8 inch xj lift

Im running 7 and a half inches of lift right now but im getting ready to go bigger. I have a new set of 39" Iroks sitting at my shop that were for another project. MY buddy has a new set of 36" Iroks he wants to trade for my 39's. Should i cut the hell out of my fenders and go 39"s or stick with the 36's? (sorry to hijack thread)

I hope you at least have D44s for those 36s.

at 8 inches....an SYE and cv driveshafdt is a must....

Exactly. also my buddy ran short arms on his at 8 inches and it was terrible. Much better now that is has long arms

yes its drops all 4 CA's. running arms in the stock location on 8" would be scary. RE sells the brackets+ frame brace. i think trail master also has a kit. go long arms!

rough country has a kit too. Theirs dont drop them as much as RE though which is stupid

8" is alot of lift. That being said, if you want a vehicle that can be safely driven at speed and will be reliable you will need long arms. The geometry of a short arm setup at that lift height will produce poor drivability and may lead to cracks without extensive reinforcement of the frame. Don't forget all the other extensive modifications you will need to have a safe vehicle at that lift height, trackbar, steering etc.
