I have an 8" lift kit for a jeep cherokee. The lift is complete besides front coils and shocks. It is a long arm kit, when I took them off they had been welded on. The lift kit includes 2 long arms with heim joints, all necessary front hardware including drag bar etc, skyjacker 8.0" rear leaf pack, U-bolts for the 8.25 axle, and 2 rear shocks. Also included are degreed blocks for the rear, and keep in mind the front is fully adjustable The lift kit has surface rust on the arms, everything else in good condition. I would like to trade for another lift kit between 4" and 7". This jeep is my dd and I dont want to go too extreme with it. Let me know what you have...

what kit was it?

What trackbar does it have?
front/rear brake lines?
shackles?

I couldn't tell you what brand they were. I will tell you that the rear leaf pack is made by skyjacker and the front arms were custom made. Besdies that I dont know what kind it is other than what the guy had told me it was a skyjacker lift...sorry I could't help you fell free to send me your email and ill send some pics...

Sorry abput that, no it does not have brake lines, but you can buy them for pretty cheap, and you can even by relocation brakets

Just to let you all know that I am interested in a trade for another COMPLETE lift kit (minus coils is fine). I can deal with out getting coils but anything else is going to cost me money. The lift is worth a good amount of money, and I would like to get that out of it. So like I said I want to trade for a lift bigger than a 3". Preferrably a 6" but let me know what you got..thanks..

So you didnt say

Trackbar?
shackles?

You're saying its a complete kit and listing off tons of stuff it doesnt have?

Post up some pics of the arms.

like I said it comes with a track bar..NO SHACKLES..it is a leaf pack like I also stated before. Thanx and let me know... Ok so you got me I cant really say that it is complete, but I still want to trade for a complete kit, I mean come on there is plenty of money int his lift and its gotta be worth something...

if its not complete, then it really is not worth much, especially with it being a long arm. No pics means we are taking your word for it. You have already mentioned that its not complete! That makes it worth well nothing.

Sorry just trying to be honest about it.

wow that is pretty interesting hat you said that, because all it is missing is very small pieces, the non expensive pieces.

A picture would be worth 1000 words, and 2 pictures worth 2000.

no, you didnt say those parts were missing. You said it was complete, its far from it. What is there is .. shady.

It has a track bar that doesnt work for 8". It has no swaybar accomodations. No brake lines front. No brake lines rear. No coils. No shackles to go with long leafs. Home made longarms with no reasonable crossmember.

What *IS* included comes with "pictures" that are -four years old-, and things look worn 4 years ago.

Its really really hard to get away with "saying its complete" when you have MANY MANY MANY members that KNOW what they are talking about. I wasn't trying to be rude, but I HAD seen the pictures that are now posted and I DO know what I am talking about.

Think about it, your on a forum with all these guys that drive XJ's everyday and for many many years. and you want to try and sling some BS like that, Not a great way to get started!

my .02!!! And yes I am in a crappy mood today!

Well I am sorry for any inconvienances I have caused. I should of thought about what I said when I said it was complete when it was not. I hope that I didn't upset anyone and maybe you guys can help me out on what I should do with it or how much it might be worth. Yes it is not brand new stuff but from what I understood, the parts I have were expensive, I could be wrong though. So maybe you guys can help me out with the sell, or maybe its just rash, idk, let me know what you think any advice will be taken..thanks for your help...

I also wanted to say that this lift was in working condition when I took it off. I dont understand how you say that the track bar cant be used and that the leafs need shackles. Like I said the leafs were mounted in the stock position and the track bar was also on it.

Oh and also the pictures arent 4 years old, the date on the camera is off, I have only had the lift a couple of months. I wish that people would sotp making conclusions before they even ask.......

sorry I wont take 35 bucks for it...lol. I guess it will go up for sale on craigs list then...

You're asking what its worth? The leafs are worth about $200. They are used leafs, and they are ones that typically arent looked at favorably (sorry, its the truth).

The arms are worth about $150. To use them "safetly", you will have to make a new cross member - used control arms arent worth all that much, especially an unknown and probably home brew pair - that frame attached mount isn't great.

The steering, could be worth up to about $150, depending on the condition of the tre's.

That trackbar uses a horizontally placed single sheer rod end, similar to the RE1600. It is typically used for 2.5-4.5 inches of lift - going "big" requires a stronger style of setup to be safe. Figure its worth about $100 on the high end.

Those are very high end estimates based on what we see in the photos.

To use this stuff *safely* as a lift, you would need

Coils (duh)
front and rear brake lines
crossmember
new trackbar (HD)
new trackbar mount (HD)
new u-bolts
swaybar links (assuming someone wanted to be safe and run a swaybar)

Doing that stuff new and in a trusted brand is going to cost somewhere between 5 and 7 hundred dollars. After buying those parts and the stuff you have, you would end up with a very tall lift that rides like a skateboard on a cobblestone street and may or may not just fall apart, as the front arms are unknown manufactur and quality.

You're asking to trade this stuff for a complete ~6 inch lift, which runs about $1500 in a good brand. A good 3 inch lift can be $500+.

If you want to come in here, sell those parts individually with better photos and a good description, and then ask us to help you peice together a 3-4 inch lift on the inexpensive with the funds - .. most people here (myself included) would be more than happy to help you there.
