Well, not by choice exactly. Nice weekend of wheeling at Two Rivers Safari in Pittsfield. Last hill end of the day, last 100ft of trail, (Pokey's Run) shredded my spiders. Left dents on the INSIDE of the diff cover. Flushed it out, no damage to the ring or pinion so a guy in town welded me up and now I have a "Miller Locker." I'd have preferred a "Lincoln" brand but he only had a Miller. :spin1:

My rear DS was seezed up on the splines. Even a 6ft pry bar wouldn't compress it. So it is toast. Luckily my stock front fits pretty darn good in the back. Made it home with a duct tape front header panel as well.

For anyone who has never done the Safari and Blast, run by Two Rivers Jeep club, you are missing out on some very excellent wheeling. It is all on private land and make the "parks" look like the old overused quarries and strip mines they are. The town turns out en mass to help with the event as it is a huge fund raiser for the schools in town as well as a big revenue source to an otherwise very poor community.

Oh well, here's a picture of my carnage.

My spotter took the heat for this one. I was backing up for another approach to an obstacle and he swung me around, clipping a tree. Ripped off the whole driver light assembly including the header parts. My JCR Offroad bumper was none worse for the adventure however. Probably would have been worse. Thanks Brian!!

Mine is a DD however. I can hear and feel those big BFG MT lugs scootchin around the turns. They aren't going to last very long. Luckily the D44 is in progress. Hope to have it done and installed by Carnagefest.

Mine's a daily driver also. Just went to Badlands 3 hours there and 3 hours back, drive it all the time. No noticeable wear yet. It depends on the tire more than anything.

I may just beef up the Lincoln Locker that was "installed" and run it until I get the the 44 finished. I have to find a front DS now as I had to put mine in the back. My Tatton eBay special seezed up on the splines and is now a fixed length DS. I have to get a CV ball rebuild kit as well, but for the price of that alone, I can get a used front. Hell, the front fits better anyway. I am at 32.5" to the center of each yoke in the back and my stock front was at 32" even. Better flex with the DS and no splines are showing so me thinks I'm good.

Have to make sure when beefing up the Lincoln I don't weld the retainer clips for the axles in. Makes getting those axles out tricky I'd bet??

I see pictures of guys rigs with them welded up having used a ton of wire. How the hell do they get the axles out if they break one??

Picked up an almost new Dana 30 Detroit and 4.56 R&P for $200. To be installed when I put in the D44.
WHERE you say... right here on NAXJA from a guy in Hurst!!! :yelclap:
