Does anyone know where to get the 62 mm butterfly? I saw them for sale for about $30 at one time but, I have no idea where to find that anymore.
TIA

Each angle of butterfly requires a different fixture to cut out. They are not a round disc. They are cut "catty-wampus" to match the plate angle at idle. Either the machine shop has one of these fixtures to match the Jeep angle, or they are making wrong plates in 10 seconds. We have a fixture for 3 angles we have run into. I do Hondas, BMWs, Mitsus etc. I have also got the plate you are looking for, and can save you at least $10. Call me, MIKE
How do you cut yours? I did an angle plate for my lathe, double stick taped the sheet to it and then turned it. I've also done them with a boring bar on a mill with an angle plate fixture. I just finished converting my mill to CNC, but was wondering about cutting the plate at 90 degrees instead of the canted angle? Any experience in what works best?
Oh, by the way for you non-tool and die guys, catty-wompus translates into elipse.
We thought about using the CNC as well. I think the lathe leaves the best finish. (I've even gone back to using a boring bar to do TB's for the same reason) Round plates would only get close to closing all the way @ 0° (or 90° ?). Can work in a carb I think, you open the plate for idle. FI needs to get pretty close to closed so the IAC has better control. I think if you used a flat plate that close to closed, it may bind (hence the idle plate angle...I think). It's a bitch, but we can do one or a stack with the fixture Jim made. BTW...you get away with tape? Damn, you should see the rig he made for bolting them down. Look nice when they are done MIKE
