6 Dollar Crawlers

Anyone else have these? They are Extreme Rock Machines and you can get them at Wal-Mart for well about $6. We have been playing the hell out of them. Had them down at Led's Sat night and it got to the point of dragging rocks in from outside to make a course on the coffee table. They are very easily modified get the dremel tools out and start cutting them up! They also have a play course that comes with 2 crawlers and a fold out course for $20. They are lots of fun and if the correct mods are made they go about anywhere. You crawl the couch or crawl the Dog.

I dont know if you guys go to radio shack or not, but there are these things called x-mods. are these crawlers like these, or what are they exactly?

JJ remove the shocks they're useless.You also need to pre-load the suspension with rubber bands and remove the body-its just dead weight.I'm goingto give mine a Dremel treatment to lighten it up.Greg the 9v stroker mod sounds like a good one- time to start experimenting.

BTW, my friend did the 9V stroker mod and it made about 2 runs before never working again.

I pick up the "competition set" and 4wheelfarts. Comes with rocks, a rock covered carring case, and two crawlers.

9 volt mod works great if the battery is about half dead havent tried a fresh one yet. Oh well I think between Jon and I we have a 6 dollar crawler graveyard here. Just gotta get something figured out to tension the damn belts. Oh well when you dont have a jeep gotta have something that can wheel. I guess I will have to get more creative and keep my ideas a secret that away the norco boys will have an advantage? CTM belts? thats an Idea!

IIRC my buddy put the belt through a straw in the middle to keep the tension. You need to use a large diameter strw like the ones at McDonald's for their shakes.
