Custom cowl hood to clear the hoops?
I notice that you have the intake on reverse and that you cut out part of the firewall. Was all that was cutout necessary?
I was thinking about when I do an LSx swap to run the intake reverse and do a cowl filter. Wasn't sure if it was possible.

Through the hood!! Shows that I mean business, like a stock broker carrying a brief case. I made the cutout that far back because I wanted to use a 90 degree elbow for the intake and it needed that much room.

Stupid Question, How Do You Deal With The Stupid Electronic Throttle That The 5.3 Has? Thats One Of The Big Reasons Why I Havent Considered This Swap.

cable throttle body, this one isn't drive by wire. If it was, you'd deal with it by getting a pedal and TAC module to go along with it.

The bed is already painted, I cut it down by 11", made my made my won taillights, powdercoated my tailgate and that should do it.
You can do it that way or swap to a cable throttle body like I did. The GM ECU's are very tunable, you can change lots of parameters. You can run electric fans, cable or electronic throttle, manual or automatic transmission, delete emissions functions, and even go speed density.

I have been running the DBW for about 4 years, zero issues including the "feel" some people talk about. When I was researching I came across a few people who said this, but it has never felt anything but perfect to me.
