42RE TRASMISSION REPLACEMENT

hey:

please i need some help...i have a Rubicon with the 42Re trasmision and i like to replace that because i put a big turbo on the engine and i think the trans is not enough stronger than the aw4 or some other trans...

someboy help me if there is a reinforcemente kit or something or wich transmission is compatible with the stock electronics?

An AW4 can handle that power, talk to someone who builds MK4 Supra transmissions, they are essentially the same trans.

Guessing you have a ZJ? A decent bolt-in replacement for the 42re is the 46re. If you have a 4.0L then in theory an AW4 will bolt in

My bad, either way 46Re is better than the 42

now the electronics ae the same in the 46RE trans??? the thing is the Rubicon control the transs with the ECU so my problem is the electronics?

somebody coul recomend a swap???

The "E" in the trans code stands for electronic. So, 42rE, 44rE, 46rE, etc are eletroniclly controlled. Whereas their older counterparts 46rH are not. Should be bolt-in swap.
