4 Cylinder Aftermarket Headers?

"home brew idea" If you have the carbed 2.5, and you don't need the egr stuff to work you can use the manifold from a EFI 2.5. it is better than the carbed version. I have wondered how it would work if you have one extrude-honed.

"answer to your exact question" Call Hesco... www.hescosc.com they are the best I have found anywhere to get stuff for the 2.5 and they have the best technical and service departments of any engine shop I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.... period

An '86 will be throttle body injected and should have an EGR. Whether or not he can get away with eliminating the EGR is a different question, to be resolved between Artster, his conscience, and the Colorado DMV.

You could also try Clifford Performance Research. They make a lot of stuff for the 6-cylinder engine and may still have items for the 4-banger. Sorry I don't have their web address. I thought I had it bookmarked, but that may have been on the old computer.

I used many Clifford parts over the years...AGES ago they were called Clifford Research...they were top notch then. Now "Clifford Performance"......I ordered a set of new pushrods in September. They are still on "Back Order" and they have done nothing to keep me informed...dang shame ain't it???

Unfortunately, Jack Clifford retired and sold the business to one of his employees, whom I will not name. Quality began to slip then. It may be worse now, since Jack died perhaps a year ago.

I would not buy any internal engine parts from them, but they should still be able to manage a header. Here ya go:

I have the Clifford headers on my 4 banger. Not only do they work well but there aren't many other choices out there for the 4 cyl. I have the tbi and everything including the egr and O2 sensor bolt right on. You will have to change the pipe from the headers to the catalytic converter.
