I have seen the full roller 1.7 rockers arms, budget not there for those. Does anybody make a set of stamped steel 1.7 rockers for the 4.0?

The aftermarker stamped steel units are factory ratio replacement only. No demand for 1.7s in steel as the roller rockers cover that.
Be advised though, if you go rollers, the valve cover will need to be spaced up 1/2" to clear the new rockers. Hesco sells the spacer.

Thanks. I was hoping that 401 or 304 rockers may swap over, seems like they may come in 1.7 ratio, but haven't checked.

I believe that the AMC V8s use a different rocker entirely. But, due diligence... I went on Summit Racing and all of the stamped steelies are 1.6ers... For all of the AMCs.
