I have a cherokee with a strong 8 inches of lift, Right now I'm running 34'sx10.5 and I have plenty of room. My fenders are cut, so I've got a lot more room. My question is I found a set of 38x15.5's for a really great deal. Will they fit? I am pretty sure heighth wise they would fit, but how about width? Anyone run this big of tire on theirs??? Thanks,

they may fit until you flex at all, I run 36's and 11" of lift, which is more lift than need for the 36's, so I'm looking for 38's.

I think you'd be tight with only 8".

Anything will fit after an appointment with Dr. Sawzall.

Are you going ot go more places on 38's than you will on 36's than you will on 34's?

Just curious, as it seems smarter to match your tire to your terrain rather than your lift height.......

If this is all just for looks, scratch my comments and go with whatever makes the girlies go wild!

I run 39.5's and would guess it's lifted about 8 inches. Of course you will need bumpstops in the front with coils. Mine's leafs all around, no bumpstops, and with massive cutting things get really close, but still clear. These are 39.5-15-15 on 10 inch wheels, front outside width of 85".

I run 38x15.5's on about 8-9" and they work well but i did slide the rear axle back 2" and reshaped the rear wheel wells. I am selling them if you are interested. i also run15x10 wheels w/3" bs. hope this helps.

Wheel wells? What are wheel wells? :D

38's with ~9" but will lower it a couple inches before I'm done.

kaczman, nice rig... In terms of going for looks, I'm not doing that. This rig is purely offroad only, with many a battle scars. To tell you the truth, I'm alittle itchy going taller than I am now with bigger tires. I just found a deal on 38's that in my opinion are almost too good to pass up. That's a reason I was thinking about it. My 34's run great. Could be a bit wider of a tire though.

I run 38.5 SSR's with 10" front and 12" rear. I would like to lower it a bit but then i have to run bumpstops in front and more cutting in the rear which makes it unlegal for street use in germany.
