Well I went with 33x9.50's, I think it looks good. I haven't cut any yet, i think I'll end up taking a half inch or so off.

how much measured lift, and what brand? I like the look.

my 98 has settled to 3.5r, 4.0f.....been thinking about 33x10.5 on stock steelies with 4.0r, 4.5f, & bumpstops....dont know if i want the power lose though...

Well after taking it through some mud today I think I'll put some TJ flares on it, they rubbed a little too much for my liking. But other than that there was no place there that I couldn't go, I'm very impressed with the tall/skinny tires.

The lift is from rusty's, Im happy with it, I've also got a 1.5" spacer in the front, If needed I'll put some bigger shackles in the back. I don't know the actual lift height but im sure its around 4.5.

the Dirty Method to measure lift height. If you have the stock flares, it's 17.5" from wheel center to bottom of front flare, and 17.0" from wheel center to bottom of rear flare

I'm going to buy some spacers and shackles soon so I can get 5 inches out of it. But my plan it to hopefully have 31 all terrains as the street tire then slap on the 34's when the weekend rools around.
I run 34x10.5 3.75" bs with 5" of lift. I trimmed my front fenders, flares and pulled out all the crap inside the wheel wells. I have just a tab rubbing at full crank on the frame. It is actually the best combo in tires and back space I've tried. Cutting really helps. Cuts really easy. Jigsaw or sawzall. Jigsaw is easier to keep in the lines. A 4" mini grinder really helps too. $20 at Harbor freight. Best $20 tool I ever bought.

Boise,
You XJ looks GREAT!! The trim job stuffs nicely as well GOOD JOB!!

I am doing quite a simalar set up on my MJ. I have the tras on and the fenders cut. I am just waiting for a friend to have a chance to flex me uot with his fork lift, so I can measurer for bump stops and appropriate legnth rear shocks.

Sweet MJ ! Are those 34s or 33s. I raise my front flares that really helped when you crank it and are stuffed.I never rub on the fenders of flares. Just the inside frame which doesn't chunck my tires so no biggy.

longbeds are where it's at, I carried 1K lbs of gear and firewood to the trail, setup camp and went wheeling.
just get used to quarter panel damage :)

I would DEFINEATELY chop the rear overhag IF IT WHERE my primary wheeler. its not, its my Daily Driver, that has gotten a bit out of control!! :) ;)

I am seriously thinking of building anotherone only this tim use a SWB as a base!!

The tars are 33X10.5X15's

I just flexed it out tonight to try to get a better idea of bump stopping it. I also need to address my rear shocke...mine are too short even though I moved them up and bought extended legnth!!!!

Thanks for the compliments!!!

My bump stops in the rear I extended by 2"s with square tubing, the front are 5" Daystar bumpstops. I have to show your rig to my son he loves MJ's. Both my boys have XJs. My wife drives a KJ ( Liberty ). I wouldn't chop that rig either. That was someone else talking. That thing is sweet. You raised your front flares too didn't you ? If not the MJs flares sit higher then XJs.
Can you shoot me your specs ? Gears, diffs all those goodies ? Just PM me if you want to keep it quiet. I let the world know I have sunk 17K into my $1200 Cherokee  Maybe not the brightest. Then again it is protected by a Doberman and assorted weapondry:explosion
See yuh !
