32 inch tires with no lift? How much trimming?

Heres my old old XJ. 2" BB 34" LTBs. this is really the only digital pic I have of it. I have a lot of regular polaroids with the 34s and fenders and a top. I cut up to the body line in front and cut and folded the rear with the quarter panels cut. It flexed great, didn't worry about more bumpstops, just used a BFH and clearanced.

You can throw 30's on it with a 2" lift and no trimming, but if your goin to run any thing more...lift time
heres a link to tire rack with the bfg a/t's... the difference between the 30x9.5 and the 235/75 is a difference of a .5" in height and .3" in width... there should be absolutely no reason why you should have to trim or lift your jeep. im running the 235/75 setup riding stock and i have absolutely no issue of rubbing at any given time... full flex or not.

You can do 30"s with minor trimming No lift.

Maroon XJ has minor trimming and no lift 30" Bfg A/Ts (no Rubbing..ever), Blue XJ has RE3.5 and 31" Bfg A/Ts

Just posted in another thread, but WTH.

33x10.50's on a '98 XJ with stock leafs with a negative arch. Only mods are trimmed fenders front and rear (nothing too extreme either), MJ shackles and extended rear bumpstops.

i could of prolly went more and this is the rear , pretty well stuffed

gotta remember these are stock 15x7 wheels wrapped with 235/75's

If you do 31s or 32s on no lift in my eyes its a mall wheeler. I just hate the tjs with 3" lifts and 35s or 33s that stick out to tomorrow. Its just funny to see kids bring dads jeep up the hill just to rub everywhere. Do a bb and trim/bumpstop to fit 32s. Hell I bet you could use an excuse to buy new shocks eh?

Well right now I'm at 7" with 32's...don't plan to go any higher, just plan to get bigger meats....

This isn't my XJ but I saw it online once, it's 31's with stock height...

And here's me again when it was stock on 30's. With the rear sagging issue addressed, sitting a smidge higher in the rear than off-the-assembly line stock height.

Hopefully these examples give you an idea.

Also there's a guy on Jeepin named JeepJerk who had 32's on his 98 or 99 (whatever the hell it was, 97+ definitely) with no lift. I think he has since put a budget boost on.

All this talk about different sizes, and trimming, and fitment and stuff, looks like I have a lot of reading to do. I'm not sure whether to do 31x10.5x15 or 32x12.5x15 KM2s on my XJ. Have 3.5 in the rear and 3 in the front. If I was to stay with the 31s, how much bump stop increase should I put in? What sort of offset would I need with the 32s to not rub too much, and how much trimming would I have to do.

Thanks in advance.

Everett

EDIT: Sorry to bump the old thread. The search button brought me here, and I didn't realize it was this old... :P

just don't be afraid to trim some... Here is an in progress pic. The turn signals been moved and the rear ends in the rocker... 37" tires on my 65" axle would fit with 2" of lift.

I have also ran 33x10.5's stock with a nice trim.

So basically I just buy the 32s, and do what I gotta do to make em fit? Haha, I like that. I may just stick with the 31s though, cause it will still be my daily driver. Thanks for the input.

i ran 31x10.50 mts on my stock xj didnt trim the fenders only rubbed a little at full flex tore the inner fender up a bit while doing so, after that no rubbing looked good to wish i had a pic
