31's fit with no lift

What's up all?! I'm new here. So hi. I have an '01 XJ w/ 2" of lift and I'm running 31 X 10.50's on the factory 15" rims. No cutting, no rubbing not anything and drives like a dream. I do have to be careful making a really sharp turn, cause I'm sure I'd rub on the LCA's, but haven't rubbed yet. Seems like every XJ is different no matter what year.
If you are only driving the streets what you have is OK. Try it off road and you'll hear a lot more. There are a lot of variables involved and the hardware and the way the driver uses his vehicle come into play.

i believe it. i cut a good amout of metal or should i say rust out when i did mine to. i know a 32-33 would probably squeeze in there as is. but like you said... going over a road bump would make it rub.

btw where canada you from?
i am about a hour east of toronto ,

i am a firm believer in low COG. i bet you could fit 33's on 3"-4" of lift easy- no rubbing with tj fenders.. i run about 5" of lift with the 33's and am trying to lower mine a bit

i'm starting to think the same thing. i'm really up in the air now if i should get a 32 in the spring or a 33. as it stands i have no sway bar in the back and get no rubbing while flexing the rear with the 31's with no lift. so theorecticly if i lift it 3" a 33x10.5 "should" fit about the same. the front has even more clearance with no flares. i intend on putting some tj flares on shortly. i think i might try a 33x10.5 tire. worste case scenario is i get a bit of rubbing. if so then i'll just add another 1" of lift.
