235/60R15 or 255/60R15? BFG Radial T/A or Cooper Cobra?

I'm looking at tires for my 89 MJ. It will be lowered a little bit(proportionate to tire size). I'm going for more of a driver, more along the old SCCA trucks, something fun to take on drives on windy country roads. But I have no idea what size will look good on a 15x8 wheel, 3.75" backspace.

I'd like to find something about like these

This was an MJ I had a few years back, but I never really looked at what size these were, but I liked the look.

I've always had a lot of luck with BFG, but the price difference is hard to ignore. Any suggestions? Recommendations?

For a 15x8 wheel I would run the 255. I never really understood what was so special about the Radial T/A.

I have 255/60-15 bfgs on 15x7s, but think they'd be better on 15x10s. A 225/50 would look good on 15x8.

225's on an 8" rim sounds wrong, too much rim, not enough tire. Don't think I would go less than a 245 unless I already had a set of 235's that were still servicable.

I run Firestone Firehawk 235/60-15s (discontinued) on my 87 Ranger with a 15x7 - It fits perfect and looks great. For the 15x8 I would go with the 255s though.
