2001 xj wire removal LS swap.

My apologies for the stupid question in advance. I have an 01 xj that I'm putting in a 5.3 with aftermarket gauges and my question is can I remove factory pcm and all wires going to it?

If you have a way to engage the fuel system and cooling fans I don't see why not. Will make for a cleaner install with less wire harness visible

Not if you want everything to work as a 2001 XJ! Do you have to go thru vehicle inspection?

It's what I did. Takes some time, but it makes for a much cleaner install. I ran a stock GM Delphi ECU for years, but recently reconfigured my wiring. My 6.0 LS is running a Holley Terminator X ECU under the passenger seat, and Autometer gauges.

That'll work fine if You don't mind the looks. I ditched the Jeep box, so I could get the majority of my fuses under the rear seat. Only my A/C, fans, and starter relay/fuses are still under the hood.
