2 stroke experts?

Ok, can't get to the adjusters....they are shrouded too closely by the carb body...I've got nothing small enough...and they won't turn with the edge of a small screw driver:looser:. Where do I find the special tool for adjusting??:dunno:
Thanks:cheers:

Sorry to highjack. Stump I have a Ryobi weedeater that wont start after I pulled the Magnito (I'm sure it's misspelled). I'm sure it needs to be gapped. What is the gap?
What the 2 stroke expert has a question! From what I've heard 2 stokes is all it takes TRT, oh wait y'all are talking about motors, not TRT's love life.

Sorry for the delay Andy, I was in Tampa at a boat race all weekend. Apparently Walbro has installed a newer version of these adjustment screws due to EPA regulations, you can get the tools you need though.

I cant tell in your picture if yours has the caps installed or which screws you have, but you should be able to do a search for "walbro adjustment tool" on ebay and find what you need.

If you want, you can send it (the carb) to me and I will adjust it for you and send you a homemade tool back with it so you can fine tune it. I should be able to make a tool on the lathe pretty easily.

No charge of course.

Let me know, and I will send you my addy.

Without getting into specific models, most air gaps between the ignition module and flywheel magnet should be around .008" -.012" Make sure you align the magnet and measure there, not just on the flywheel surface itself.

Sorry Chuck!

No worries....you guys are amusing....after a long day driving all over the Alabama countryside...a little laughing is a good thing!:sunshine::passgas:

So let me get this straight.....and Thank you for the info....so they make a tamper proof carb that they will no longer sell adjusting tools for...and it won't run.......So....I've got a worthless POS sitting in my garage...or so they would like me to think. I really don't get it. A carb that you aren't supposed to adjust...and won't run...what do you think their solution to this problem would be? Buy a new Blower? Because I can't adjust the carb...seems like a waste...:dunno:

Why does this not suprise me? Seems like a lot of work for a $150 blower. I do appreciate the offer. But, if I can't get this thing going soon...I may offer it up to good home free...:wave1:
and it's funny this came today. As I was pulling in the garage, I was thinking "where can I find this dumb tool....Ebay...."

Just send it to me.... Ill fix it up.

Looking at your pictures, I am fairly certain those are the caps you have... you just have to pull them off which is harder than it seems.

My team (3 of us) took home overall a first and second in Mod 3.5cc tunnel, 2nd and 3rd in 7.5 cc tunnel, and 2nd in 3.5cc Outboard Hydro. Not a bad weekend, but the Florida boys are by far some of our stiffest competitors.

We all are qualified for the 2010 World Tunnel Champs in Charleston SC in May, so mission accomplsihed.

Those are a sealing cap -non adjustable-even under them.I am into r/c airplanes and have 2 homelite 30cc converted to airplanes-scrap the carb and get one from ebay-cheap around $12.I am also a diesel GM?ISUZU Tech been for 25 years now-anyways-I have been deemed the "2 stroke" guy-no pun intended.Got a friends homey runnin the other day-said it NEVER reved up quicker or screamed.till i got a hold of it.It does sound lean-Usually the little diaphram dries out and wont pump fuel any more-it works like a check vale-the pasage goes to the crankcase and it uses the engine running pulses to pull and push the diaphram.Get a carb with 2 adjutment screws like posted here! just make sure the venturi is not too big stick with 11mm or so.also get some new mounting gaskets for the adapter to head piece and the carb itself.

those are the removeable type caps-just pull them off and there is a slot for a screwdriver like a normal screw.just look around otherwise that trimmer would make a great R/C conversion--:rof:
make an offer @ $20 might just go for it!

Well, if I'm going to swap carbs...can I hang a side draft Weber on there?? They sound cool.....:viking:
Of course $400 of carburation on $150 blower doesn't really make much sense now does it.

There ya go, thanks to the EPA we cant even adjust the stupid things now. I am sure there are guys on the R/C forums who have tons of "stock" carbs who would be willing to all but give you one. Most of the gas boat guys take them off of the old homelites and put on a larger one, which you dont need.
