ok, i have a 1999 Grand Cherokee Limited with a 4.7 V8. Where is the distributor? or is it a distributor-less ignition?. the reason i ask is that i want to pull the coil wire off because of the temtation to drive it by a guy staying with me. if it is a distributor-less ignition, what is a good way to disable it so it wont start. thanks in advance for the help.

It doesn't have a distributor but it should have a set of keys. A good verbal warnign that includes "I will beat your ass" and hiding the keys well should do :).

There is also an ECU fuse or ASD relay that you could pull.

:twak: if he does...

Put two kill switches hidden somewhere to disable the starter and fuel pump relays. This is what I did cause GC theft here in WA is pretty high. Twice someone has tried to steal my Grand.

Or, if you aren't that inclined, just pull those two relays from under the hood when you park it.

You could just keep the keys with you and leave it locked. Or just have a shotgun shell with his name written on it on your dresser :) I like the second one.
