Hey guys,

I want to put my 99 XJ up for sale. I'm buying a house, so I could use the cash more at this point.

In general, it's got around 182k miles, AX15, 4.0L, NP231, 8.25 Chrysler rear end. It's never given me a problem, and I don't want to get rid of it, but it would help me take a next step in buying a house.:tears: It's completely stock except for a Pioneer CD player and Pioneer front speakers.

I'm willing to bet its the master switch on the driver's door. Go ahead, ask me how i know! Thats why I have manual windows and locks now.

It is always the drivers door switch pack. Loose solder on the board at the lock out switch. I have fixed 2 so far. My own has worked great for 4 years now. Take the switch apart and solder it up. Its easy. Bet you wish you still had power windows!

More times than not, its the window lock-out switch on the driver side goes bad, all you have to do is clean it up or run a piece of wire. Mine is doing it right now.

I'm two hours north of you. More pics if you can, and more info about rust. I'm interested enough to want to know more.

I'm actually going to Portland tomorrow for work.

...but I'm taking an airplane. I didn't realize that this combo was rare when I got it, but doing some initial research on a reasonable price, I couldn't find any other 5 speeds.

I also never thought there'd be that much interest right away. I don't have any pictures specific to the rust, but I'll give my description of it. The rust is in two places that I can see. The bigger spot is on the passenger rear quarter panel, right behind the wheel. It's right above the trim that runs to the rear bumper. I've never taken the trim off to see how bad it is behind it, but I assume it's not super pretty. The other spot is on the same side, on the front fender. This one isn't as bad, but noticeable. Nothing on the lower rockers...the steel wheels are a little rusty, but that could be easily taken care of. I kinda liked the rough look they gave with the bit of rust.

The underside of the Jeep is surprisingly clean for coming from Wisconsin. I've had other cars that looked much worse. This one is clean on the underside.

I wish I had some better pictures, but I'll have to wait until I get back from Portland to get more.

I'm glad I never managed to sell my 99 4.0 4d 5sp 4x4 sport. Luckily I put the time in to fix the fated ac problem etc, sorry you had to sell it but homes a wee bit more important than cars.

And i was barely asking for 1800 2 years ago :O then again gas was nearing 5$ a gallon LOL

Pretty rare a late model 2dr, 4.0L 5 speed 4x4.
I hate to sell it, but have 2 98' 5.9L ZJs and Big Red a 91' XJ so the 98' 2 dr XJ is expendable.
