Greetings, I am a buddy of Charles who posts on this forum from time to time. I just joined partly to sell my old XJ (below) but will be sticking around as I bought a 2001 XJ last year. I know I'm supposed to be chapter member to post, but this would be plain silly to advertise on the national classifieds...
Last week my beloved 1991 XJ Laredo was broken into in a botched attempt to hot-wire it, and is sitting outside my home with damage to the steering column so I cannot start it. The XJ gods are telling me it's time to sell this vehicle to a good home:
200K miles, original engine, does have rear main seal leak.
NP242 xfer case rebuilt by MIT in 2005
AW4 tranny replaced in 1999.
Radiator replaced 2005.
Here are the "goodies" in order of priority:
3" Skyjacker lift (installed 1998). Oil skid, Tomken xfer case skid. Compushift, steel brake lines, 30in Pirelli Scorpions with ~50% tread. Factory rear tire carrier. Front tow hooks and rear hitch. Trac Lok D35 axle (but the Trak Lok is probably worn out). Smittybilt nerf bars. Hood/starter lock installed. Detachable face AM/FM cassette, power moonroof, doors & windows. Green/tan paint job (fading on hood).
This would make an excellent parts vehicle (the NP242 alone) or "project" vehicle for a home mechanic - you'll be on the trail in short order!
I'm asking $1300 o.b.o. if you can tow it away, and I'll throw in the CB radio and antenna for free. If you'd be more interested in this XJ once the ignition is fixed, please let me know!
