This is practically a free Jeep! Just pay for half of the parts that I have in it and I'll throw in the Jeep that they're attached to for free! This Jeep is ready for the upcoming season, SkyJacker 4" lift w/BFG A/Ts (5), limit straps, Rusty's tie rods, JKS shock pins, Daystar eng/trans mounts, fresh tune-up, runs great and the a/c blows coooold air. Asking $4500, but will entertain serious offers. [email protected] for questions or photos.

Yeah, your right, $4500 is not entirely free, just a play on words. As all of us wheelers know, you can't build an XJ this serious for 4500 bucks, so I took creative liberty with my words to let the reader know that if they were interested, they could purchase all of these great parts and I would throw in the Jeep that they're attached to for free. Just havin' fun...thanks for the reply.

Sounds a lot like my wifes 92, except she has Swampers, her total cost including xj purchase was barely over half of that. But she did do the work herself instead of paying for it done.

Wow, tough group! Here is more detailed information. This XJ has a Skyjacker 4" Flex series lift, this is not a low budget static height only lift, it is a high dollar lift with both upper and lower front control arms with heim joints and an incredible amount of front end flexion! There are no lockers in the XJ and I have been able to go many places without them due to this added flex which allows the front end to stay on the ground. I have added JKS bar pin eleminators to help reduce the "cherokee thump", they didn't help much. As we all know, the only thing that holds the front end from falling down when airborne is the shocks. I installed pyrotec 13" limiting staps to hold the load when the front end is off of the ground instead of pulling my shocks apart. The Rusty's Off Road tie rods are nice too, they replaced the weak stockers that are known to fail when rock crawling (also not low budget). All of the bump stops (front and rear), have been replaced with Daystar urethane stops as well as the engine and trans mounts have been replaced with Daystar urethane mounts. The tires are BFG A/Ts with approx 10,000 miles and a brand new spare that has not been used yet. The wheels are American Racing steel spokes (low budget and appropriate). Right after I purchased the Jeep, I had to have the AX-15, 5 speed trans rebuilt and when I did, I also replaced the clutch with a Centerforce II pressure plate and disk, re-surfaced the flywheel and installed a new slave cylinder and throwout bearing. In February of this year, I installed a tune-up kit from Summit Racing and last year, I had to replace the water pump and harmonic balancer. This Jeep runs really well and has always passed the smog tests without problem. I had a Flowmaster muffler installed when I first built it with a 2" tail pipe to the rear. Sounds good. The interior is what I think gives it the "seriousness." The headliner and carpet were trashed, so I took them out. The dash has developed a crack in it this past year, but the seats are comfortable and rip free so far. I put a Grant 950 four spoke steering wheel in it and it has a Uniden CB radio and flexible antenna. The paint shines but the body is rough. It looks good from 25 feet, but up close shows the wear and tear. I just totalled up the receipts to see if I was way off base. I'm not. I have currently over $5200 in parts receipts alone (no labor)! not to mention the initial cost of the vehicle or receipts for small stuff that I didn't keep. I'm sure that nobody in their right mind is going to buy a '91 Jeep Cherokee for close to 4500 bucks, except an experienced off-roader who knows the value of good components. Contact me if you have any questions that I failed to address. Thanks for your replies. Please e-mail [email protected] for pictures. I can't fugure out how to attach them here??? Maybe somebody could point me in the right direction.

i just bought a 95 country with a skyjacker 6" lift. the front has tomkin control arms upper and lower, re trac bar, brand new bfg all terrains on eagle alloys, the paint is in immaculate condition, interior is immaculate also leather no tears, power seats, 119,000 miles. front sway bar discos, skyjacker shocks all the way around, skyjacker springs up front. sony system with 10 cd changer. no rust whatsoever. 2x4 steel rock sliders. i got it for 4500. nothing wrong with it at all.

Things you do to keep it running shouldn't be added to the list of "mods", that is called maintenance:), no need for lockers because it flexes so well?hmmmmmmm, oookay.

Smart man! You knew what you were looking at and the value of all of those great parts. Sounds like you got a really good deal! Have fun wheeling in your new XJ.

to host pics, you need a host such as photobucket, then upload the images to photobucket(free), and copy the tag or image url in your naxja post and waalaa the pic shows up.

I didn't say there was no need for lockers, what I said was that I have been able to go into many places that I probably couldn't have with a low budget lift. And if I were to keep this Jeep, the next item on the want list was a D44 w/locker for the rear. This year at TDS, I realized the need...

just joshing you, everyone loves their jeep, at least when it is running:), why the sale?

Hey Skullvarian, thanks for the info on photobucket. Never heard of it, but I'll check it out. And your right about maintenance costs, the picture that I was trying to paint for you was that as I replaced worn items, I did it with top of the line stuff, not just OEM or the local auto parts junk.

Well, I just bought a new Unlimited Rubicon. I had reached the point of spending on the XJ that made me think that I should maybe start with a better foundation. I was looking at the costs associated with swaping the rear-end and with Jeep's employee pricing, we decided to go with the TJ/LJ.
