I bought this vehicle as second owner in 1975.
I sold it to a great friend who I fished, hunted, and prowled around in the Colorado Rockies with. He in turn gave it to his older brother Jim. Jim died and the truck came back to my friend Kenneth.
When my son Paul wrecked his '94 XJ, Kenneth gave the J-4000 to my son Paul so that he would have transportation... so the "big Jeep" is now back in the family.
Paul is getting married in the fall, and needs all the financial help he can get, so the "big Jeep" is being offered for sale.
She runs strong with the new (30,000 miles plus on it) 360 V-8 engine. She has dual FlowMasters on the exhaust end, with a 4 speed (granny low), Dana 60 rear and Dana 44 front in between.
This vehicle is not on the E.P.A.'s most desirable list, but she really has the power to do it all!
I have photos that I can email you.
For those of you who know our family; Holly is still driving her '95 YJ, Mark is driving his '94 XJ, Paul is driving his '97 Tacoma 4x4, and I'm still driving my '98 XJ named "Yael". It really seems like a long time since Paul, Mark, and I attended the very first annual
event in Ouray, Colorado back in '99.
Buying my first XJ has brought so many wonderful memories into our family's time together... I'll never forget the time that "Bones" had to rope my old friend Tom Roach down the mountain from Yankee Boy Basin in a Colordo thunderstorm one evening back in '99- but that's only one of so many that the XJ and
has posted forever in my memory board. Thanks
!!!
