15000 Cars flooded by Hurricane Sandy...

Yeah, that really sucks :( glad you mostly made it through OK, at least.

I wish I had more early 90s spare parts sitting around at this point, most of what I have is late model or has already been used on my MJ.

Theres a few xjs fairly complete sitting in the back of Shorty's U-pull-it on 322 in Williamstown ( not even a 30 minute drive for you, Lavern). Plenty there to pick from if you have needs. That said, I feel for you on the electrical troubles. My first XJ (an 89 Laredo) was always a source of grief..blame it on the horrific mish mash of GM, AMC, and Chrysler wiring that they cobbled together during those years. I managed an auto electronics garage before I got into what I do now, so I know that of which I speak,...outside of older Jaguars, the early XJ's have the worst wiring jobs I've ever come across.

agree... RENIX XJs even had factory duct tape on wiring harness splices! DUCT TAPE!

I think my favorite is the old BBD e-carb setup on 4.2s and such, it used a Ford ECU. An 87 YJ I have spent way too much time working on had a Chrysler trans (A999), GM steering column, Ford ECU, AMC engine, and who knows what was even involved in half the carb/fuel system, it was a mess when I got to it.
