(01/08/11) Triad Trail Junkies M&G

We have hosted 5 Meet & Greets in the past, however this will be the first official Triad Trail Junkies meet, Triad Trail Junkies was formed through the original meets, people came out and were interested in forming a club. We are still a new club, but we are working our best to get things going as fast as possible, while doing it the right way.

We will meet at the Hams at the Palladium Center at 6 PM on Saturday, January 8th. Anyone and everyone is welcome, just a way to meet other wheelers from the area, hang out, get to know eachother.

I have had only 2 NAXJA guys come to the Meets, both of whom have continued to come, and I consider them members of TTJ. Would love to get more interest from you guys, as we are mostly a XJ based group, but I can only do so much. I do feel this staging area was a horrible idea, and kills events like this from minimal traffic.

If it were only closer....

Sounds like you guys are really trying to get the ball rolling on this and that's a good thing.

Keep up the good work.

Yeah man, we just did our first URE trip, I will post up some pictures, but it was a crazy weekend, great group of folks we have and will continue to have. Here are some pictures from past events, and other events we have been to as a club. Including our recent URE trip.
Club has alot of projects in the works, and have really been reaching out lately. Just can't seem to get any real interest from this forum, pretty disappointing since we are mostly a XJ based group.

This meet and greet will be pretty special, as it will be the first real showing of a Custom Rig built by one of our future members.

2 YJ's cut, formed a 4 door YJ, body put onto a powerstroke frame, powerstroke engine/trans/tcase, rockwells, 53's, coilovers, etc... Really excited to have it out, probably bring an RTI ramp this time. Heres a preview, might bring out some new faces.

Lol, wouldn't matter what gears, shafts you ran, youd kill some axles LOL.

53" Michelin XZLs

Not sure what it weighs, powerstroke engine, frame, trans, tcase (I believe), 2 jeeps basically, and alot of tube... on top of rockdubz, some heavy 20" steelies, and a clean ass 4 link setup.

@ Aaron, Yeah, powerstroke.

I would say about 7000 lbs... at a guess. Probably closer to 8000.

$5 pizza and drinks, bring your own beer if you want.

Take plenty of pics for us!!!

Will try, I will be busy taking up money for food, and also getting membership specifics from some new folks. Im sure someone will take pictures, maybe move some of the activities into the shop. Plan on going up friday and cleaning the place out.

Shop has a isuzu trooper roller that is being filled with scrap, and we are going to let people pull up on it, or whatever. Maybe some other crazy stuff but I figure why ruin the surprises.

Plan to have cornhole set up also to keep things interesting.

Been eyeing this thread for a couple weeks but have been too lazy to post.

I'll plan on being there, barring any BS. Greensboro isn't a bad drive from Raleigh.

There are a couple other NAXJA'ers in the area that I might be able to persuade to come... I really want to know more XJ/4x4 enthusiasts in the area. Every trip to URE for me thus far has been solo, though I've ended up meeting nice folks at trail heads and wheeling with them.

Check the facebook for videos and pictures. Some videos are up including the trooper being ran over by the Kraken and some other things.

Ended up doing alot more than was planned, and because of the turnout and the general idea that most of the people who come out want to party, in the future we are discussing hosting it as a Shop party instead of a meet and greet.

We ended up doing back to back pulls in the sand out back, a car crush, and some other things and had a turnout probably about 60 or so folks.
