possible great build starter? have a complete 78 international scout II drivetrain and frame. 345ci, auto, d44 axles. ran when parked a few years ago.

less than 800 miles on rebuilt, engine and tranny, with larger 3.1L block, new weber performance carb , new water pump, new power steering pump, new fuel pump, new gas tank. 2002 tj d30 so no vacuum disconnect w/ 4.56's and aussie locker, old style d35 so no stupid c-clip in diff to remove...

i just had a cv joint driveshaft go bad so it visited my local junkyard pulled the transfercase yolk and dbl cardon u joint drive shaft out of a newer model and swaped it all out. works much better

did you wire in speakers in the door? it could be a grounding or polarity issue.

before i even got to the bottom of the thread i was going to sugest checking all the u joints, sounds like thats your culprit. some people dont like em but spicer makes one with a grease fitting, if you do any water running its nice to squeze it out after with grease

could be sludge cloging up the screen on the pump syphon, or just a bad sensor. but i agree i don't think is engine ware . spend a little extra get a new pump, new rear main seal, and get the more expensive rubber oil pan gasket. also to make thing easier you'll want to undo the motor mounts and...

you could do a bastard leaf pac lift for about 40$ s-10 blazer springs from a junkyard there's some good write ups around here for this.

i just tried it on my 86 worked ok except the first 2 holes for the factory bumper bracket were of 1/2 inch. i used a piece of wood first for a template. so it was easy to adjust before drilling my steal

for sale used but excellent d30 hp 4.11 gears , standard carrier d35 4.11 gears, standard carrier i would like $120.00 for the gear set and $20 each for the carriers

you could also have a few gals of water in the tank, from condensation or cheap gas stations , i learned this the hard way. i was using hess gas religously for about a yr and had this exact problem.
