It's time to replace my old rusty exhaust system, including the catalytic converter and o2 sensor on my 96 XJ. Believe it or not, it's the original system, so I definitely got my moneys worth out of it. Anyhow, I took it to the local Meineke shop to get replaced. I knew I'd pay a bit extra, but...

So I need a new O2 sensor on my 96 XJ- the one that screws into the catalytic converter. Is this considered the upstream sensor or the downstream sensor?

OK, battery terminals were clean. Tapping the starter with a hammer did not work. I see that there is a starter relay...Anyone ever have a one go bad?

Here's the issue. I went out this morning to go to work and when I went to start 'er up, I got nothing...no clicking, no start, nothing. The "Check Engine" light does come on as it usually does when I turn the key. I hear the fuel pump kick in, and my lights (interior, headlights) are working...

For the past several weeks, I have noticed a low squeak that comes from the from end ONLY when turning. It sounds like it's coming from the front wheels, and it definately doesn't sound like brakes rubbing. Any ideas where else I might look? What are the symtoms of shot bearings? Thanks.

HOW MUCH ARE YOU PAYING? :shiver: I just put in $30 (at $2.67 a gallon), and I got just over 1/2 a tank! 10 days ago, it was $2.37 at the same station. :shiver:

Get the square bars, to match the lines of the XJ. I just don't think round bars on an XJ look right.

Yeah, you can get it welded. I chose the bolt-on because it saved me a bunch on shipping costs. When you work with Terry at Rigid, what YOU want is what YOU get!

31' BFG AT's, RE 3.5 full leafs- got about 4.25 out of it. As far as $$- if I remeber correctly, about $425 with shipping..athough I see his prices went up since last winter.

Yeah. The bolts started rusting afterabout 3 months. Terri was aware of this, and he did send new hardened stainless steel bolts to replace these, but I haven' had tme to put them in yet.

OK, I finally got a digital camera to get some pictures of the Rigid bumper. I actually installed it in March, but I never got any pics. The brush guard was custom-made to my specs by Terri for a minimal charge. www.rigidco.com

Not sure if you're a newbie to the XJ world or not, so please don't get offended if you know this already....Are you aware that you will need to trim some sheetmetal to mount these custom bumpers? NAXJA
