So, this fix is only if you have high spped only? If the fan works normally, but dies out if going uphill, I should check for vacuum leak(s)? I have searched and read replies, just confirming.

The reason given, and again I have NOT verified this, was that in an accident it would slinter and become a hazard. Also, that it was not D.O.T approved for street use or maybe not D.O.T. approved because of that reason.

I was told, not yet confirmed, that PVC was/is illegal to use on a road vehicle. So far I have not looked into the legallity, but some states are more strict than others. Just my $.02

got a 96 with similar issues and never resolved them. do go with the stock thermostat, 195*. you said stock fan, did you mean clutch of fan? have you tried a new clutch? sure you got the correct, counterclockwise I think? anything blocking the radiator, winch non stock bumper, etc.

I had a similar issue with my '96. I did sensors and that took care of it. It could be either sensors or cat. I would do both O2 sensors not just one.

The sensor in the housing is for the ECU to control mixture and the electric fan etc. The sensor in the motor near the fire wall IS for the guage.

I do not believe, 98% sure, the electric fan stays on after the ignition switch is turned off. I comes on as stated, if overheating but is only powered with the ignition switch in the ACC or RUN position. Anyone please correct me if I am wrong.

As I remember, and it has been a while since I read it, synthetics should NOT be used until AFTER a break in period. Just what I remember reading or being told by an engine builder.

Do NOT use this fan. I found that it did NOT have enough airflow to do the job. Jusy my .02 and experience.

I was thinking that there may be a way to utilize H2 or H3 fenders for those wanting wider/different front fenders. I was afraid to post that thought fro fear of death and for lack of any real research.
