New Jersey Lift Laws new website

For those interested, DMV indicates high rise inspection is still needed. http://www.nj.gov/mvc/Inspections/FAQ.htm Question: What is the inspection process for my lifted or high-rise personal vehicle? Answer: Lifted vehicles must pass a high-rise "stability" test to verify structural...

New Jersey Lift Laws new website

vette - Thanks for mentioning this. I was thinking OE was 24", but didn't want to mention this as it's been a long time since I worked with XJ's. I recall when I was researching this getting two different OE heights dependent on trim package. Does that ring a bell at all? It sounds like some...

New Jersey Lift Laws new website

Agreed, total lift up to 4" doesn't require high rise :). Just a bit confused as you mentioned 'I have a '98 SE edition with 4.5" Rough Country full pack lift kit on 33s'. This vehicle would wind up at about 5.5" to 6.0" total lift. So I gathered you were speaking of this vehicle. Kent

New Jersey Lift Laws new website

I haven't kept up with current lift laws, but it sounds like the standard station you went through stated they were not responsible for tickets/issues you may receive for lift violations. My understanding is they have not changed any high rise laws requiring a full inspection if total lift...

Whats up with the HAM Radios

For me the primary goal was emergency communcation. Not only can you get a contact in most situations, but the contacts tend to be highly skilled at assisting with emergencies. CB's, Cell phones, FRS etc have high limitations and/or failure rates. As has already been stated a tech license...

Bike rack with rear mounted spare?

As mentioned a 31 should fit inside if that is acceptable to you. I been using an 8" inch extender on my TJ for several years without problems. However addiing the extender did double the amount of play in the rack as now there were two connection points. To counter this I added a 'No...

    Best Long Range Lights?

I know there are a lot of new HID kits out there. I'm sure some are very good. When I completed my lighting needs a few years ago, the last set of lights I went with was a pair of 'Lightforce 240 Blitz HID'.. They offer what I believe to be incredible power, design etc :).

Is Auto Xray a good scanner for my 95 obd 1 jeep cherokee se?

I've had an AutoXray for about 5 years. To date it's worked flawlessly on all of my jeeps for OBD I and II scanning. It won't pull codes on my 03 WJ relating to EVIC codes etc where a DRB III scanner is neeed. Beyond this, it's worked great. I've also used it for generic OBDII on Hondas...

Q: Where do they measure from the door? Door open/closed and front/rear? A) Bottom on the door sill. Q) Also has anyone passed with the front swaybar removed? I believe that would help pass the tilt. Has anyone upgraded/modified the swaybar to fix a previously failed attempt? A) I believe...

Crashed jeep into a tree offroading, ARB bumper folded like a pancake, need advice...

Seems apparent the goal is to transfer all forces to your unibody, retaining your bumper integrity :shiver: Interesting concept, I would suggest adding a triangulated cage tied into your bumpers for the future. Granted this will still yield failure points, but the bumper integrity may be saved...
