My search for a DW cure.

My thought is that since only the few extreme tires squawking cases of DW the steering wheel was also going crazy, now I don't even feel it move, but the whole rest of the Jeep was going nuts. I did that, that that is how I found the one bad TRE, and that my track bar went bad again last year...

My search for a DW cure.

Ok so I know most of you are ready to post your death wobble cure links and quotes about track bars and steering dampeners BUT. I already know all that, and anything can cause it, this is more of just a journal, though all input is welcome of course. Here is some back story for those who...

    Unsolvable Death Wobble

I went through the same deal when I bought my 97. (All stock) I found my track bar bushing was bad, swapped in a replacement and it seemed to cure it, and about 9 months later the wobble was back, this time the ball joint on the track bar was toast. So in with a new one, replaced a...

    CB Radio.

Hahaha I feel you on this, I've had a CB sitting in my based for about 3 years now. I haven't installed it because of this. I have too much of a "do it right" attitude and what bit of searching I did seemed to lead to a lot of information that that was said to be wrong by someone else. Add that...

    which beadlock wheels

I did this a few months ago. (Granted I haven't bought them yet since my Audi took up my spare cash for a timing belt haha.) I was stuck between Trail Ready, Trail gear, and ATX slabs. I really like the Slabs, they seem to have the most beef and knirling on the ring but only come in a 3" bs...

just a thought, who would like a tailgate with a openable or roll down rear window

I'd love it, I'm actually planning cutting a hatch in half at the body line and just running the bottom half like a tail gate on nice days. That's after a cage of course. And as sunburned said it may cause exhaust to get sucked into the cab, this happens when running hatchless on my Ramcharger.

Under dash wiring clean up, what is this?

If I understand correctly. Its like a temp switch that tells the air conditioning clutch to turn on and off when needed.

    Doorless window switch relocation

Depending on how far you want to take it, here is what I did in the effort to keep my power windows but keep wires to a minimum. Switches from a 'burban Untitled by xj bmx, on Flickr Got some Deutsch connectors Untitled by xj bmx, on Flickr Made some mounts at work Untitled by xj bmx, on...

Under dash wiring clean up, what is this?

Untitled by xj bmx So I tore my dash out, and found this thing, not sure what it is since the only good dash removal write up I found the guys jeep didn't seem to have this thing, it seems to have a pin about 1/6 thick that goes into the plastic. Any ideas? I'm thinking its something related to...

Does running a 60 front/9" rear make sense?

No wait, I think I'm thinking the rubi 44.

Does running a 60 front/9" rear make sense?

I thought it was the JK44 was just a d30 from the knuckles out and just like a cross between a 30, 44, and 50 in the gears?

Does running a 60 front/9" rear make sense?

That's kinda what I figured, it seems a lot of JK guys run the JK 44 Beefed up on 37s with no issues. And since the plan for the 44 was super bling I didn't think it could go wrong. Then pirate happend and confused me. Also has anyone on here had their parts cryoed? I think that may be the...

Does running a 60 front/9" rear make sense?

Hahaha, I hate you. Though the 44 is a Ford hp44 out of a 74 with 1/2" tubes. And I am planning on full width anyway and I have no real money into it, so no matter what it will be the same amount of work to go in the rig. Originally I was going to go to 60s but the one big thing other...
