I mounted mine on the roof and if you mount them coward enough not much hood shine at all and no blocking air. I use one cross bar for reg roof rack. Not a fan of the flip down plus it's quite a bit of money. Imo
I did the conversion on my 87 and only had to use a dremmel on the center. As long as to grind it all evenly the holes should line up. I didn't have to drill the mounting holes at all.

Just got my front winch bumper modded up this weekend. Thanks to Voteban for the info on his bumper and my buddy that helped me. All that metal gets a little awkward once welded together! :helpme:
