    Intermittent volt meter

Mine is pretty wacko ever since I replaced the entire interior. I've to tap on mine sometimes otherwise it doesn't read stuff like MPH or RPMs. Like UNCC said, take it out and clean the connectors. I have an issue of my gas meter stop reading once it reaches 1/4th of a tank, so I feel ya on...

    upgrade inst panel?

I figured it was plug n play... so I searched and found this thread http://naxja.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1006102&highlight=replace+idiot+lights with these quotes...

    Lots o' Problems...

Will this still be available? Someone said they might not honor it since it is a 13 year old Jeep... just wondering. Thanks!

    Lots o' Problems...

Should I just go ahead and replace all the vacuum lines? Seems to be a smart idea, and the lines are pretty cheap. I mean, barley 300... Auburn to Gaffney, SC. I'd love to get more, which is why... sadly, I'm looking at Commanders to replace my XJ. Don't worry, still keeping the XJ, love it...

    Lots o' Problems...

I'm going to squeeze the connectors closer together, they seem to be spade connectors. New development: On the way home from work, only the low setting would work. If I cranked it up higher, the blower wouldn't work anymore. Odd. Any ideas? I had to replace some of the vacuum lines last night...

    Lots o' Problems...

I took off the battery cables, cleaned them up, checked the voltage, and even filed them down so that I can clamp them tighter. Seems to be ok in that department. Battery was reading 12.01 volts... Ironically, I already figured this out tonight. Took the blower out and accidentally broke two...

    Lots o' Problems...

That is AWESOME! Thank you for your info! Out of curiosity, can I just do a load test from a multi-meter? It has a Load setting on there... didn't know if that was the same thing. What is the best way to replace vac lines? Stealership? Lowes? Idk. I was worried about the pulling plug wires...

I've got one of those, but what does it test for?

    Lots o' Problems...

I took the ground off the side panel from the battery and the engine block to the fire wall and cleaned them up real well. What other grounds are suspect or high priority? How do I fully charge the battery and the load test it? This battery has been in the XJ for almost 3 years (keep using the...

    Lots o' Problems...

98 XJ Sport, 197k miles. Changed to the 5.0 injectors last summer. In the spring changed the plugs and wires. I've cleaned the cap and the button. I started to see a pretty bad misfire. OBD says it is a 301 code (cyl. 1 misfire) I've cleaned the injectors, replaced their o-rings and checked...

How hard is it and how much does it cost to replace a steering wheel?

+1 It really sounds more difficult than it is. I've done it a few times, the tricky thing is the airbag, but other than that its easy. You can usually find a wheel at JY, I see pretty decent shape ones all the time with everything but the nut removed (clock spring, airbag, etc.) Do it, you'll...

Climate control switch disconnected now A/C blows out defrost

Side question about this, that may relate hopefully to the OP, is there a way to re-do the vacuum lines? I have a few leaks in mine and the A/C or Heat will come on after a few minutes, then go off, then come back on, all randomly. I know for a fact those little plastic tubes have a crack or...

won't start - machine gun noise?

I'd start with cleaning the connectors and checking for a good tight, snug fit; you'd be surprised how much that matters. Just because it feels tight, or looks like it's on there good, doesn't mean much.

    D44 Identification on a '04 WJ?

This looks to be about right, as... 1996–2004 ZJ/WJ Grand Cherokee (Aluminum center section, referred to as the 'D44A'); correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't "D44A" be stamped somewhere on the axle or the housing? It may be covered in junk and you need to search for it, but I'm almost...

    The Jeep Wheels Guide:

Looks amazing, nice work! Hopefully it won't be long before you have all the pictures you need! Is that picture of the Moab rims the dark grey or light? I have a set of dark grey sitting in my garage, but I think that is the picture you have. If not, give me a shout and I'll send a picture to...
