Solved. Saudade was spot on. I replaced the ignition switch, and the key turns again. The switch had jammed. I can't say if that other problem (intermittent power loss) is also cured. Time will tell, but I will assume that the expiring ignition switch was also the cause of the power...

Damn. It appears that I have uncovered yet another Jeep issue that cannot be remedied by simply turning the radio up louder.

1994 XJ 4.0 200k miles. Stock daily driver. I do not have access to a mechanical oil pressure tester. I'm not an experienced mechanic, so I don't know what to do next. - My oil pressure is not reading normally anymore. For the life of the vehicle, the gauge has read from 15 to 40 psi. Now...

Have you tested the neutral safety switch? Put the transmission in neutral, and see if it will start.

So, I still have the electric cooling fan posted above. It works just fine, and I would hate to just throw it away. Does anyone have suggestions on where I might find someone who could use it?
