    Those with OME 2.5" Lift

I've got 100K on my OME setup. I run 255/70/16, which is nearly the same specs as a 31". I love it, but I have mine set up more for a daily driver, expedition vehicle. For heavy offroad use, I'd relocate the factory flares or get one of the cutout versions it you're going to be flexing it out...

Ordered. Sounds like a good option since my passenger side is probably rusted beyond use. Thanks,

    Hardware for used reciever hitch?

I've got used reciever hitch I'd like to put on my '98 XJ. Looks like I'll need something special for the driver's side last two bolts. Anyone know where to pick these up? Thanks, Troy

    to high flow or not

I just replaced mine 2 nights ago. After much research, OEM style "new" pump was recommended for all but rockcrawling type stuff. I found many warnings about the "remanufactured" pumps. The "new" one from Napa with a lifetime warranty was only $10-15 more than the reman ones. My bearing...

    HELP: 1999 Power Steering Resevoir?

Might want to check the autoparts stores. Autozone shows a power steering pump re-seal kit for like $10. It has a couple seals and o-rings and maybe a bearing.

98 XJ wont shift into overdrive

Could be the lock-up feature of the torque converter. My '98 lost the lock-up around 220K. I've put on about another 20K without fixing it. If you drive it you'll notice it go through all the gears, including 4th. When you are on the highway, you'll also notice that the transmission...

    98 XJ Alignment question

When replacing control arms, I've had the Jeeps raise as much as 1/2" which will affect the alignment. Most likely due to worn out busings. I usually do alignments myself, but can understand if you are getting a new set of tires.

    98 cherokee power window problems

Sounds like you have broken wires like like was stated before. On my '98 the windows got stuck in the down position and I ended up having 8 completely broken wires and several cracked wires. I think there are like 16 wires that go throught the door opening. The door panel comes off pretty...

    Unit Bearing replacement

On really rusted on Hubs, you can rent a Front Wheel Drive hub puller from the local autoparts store for free (Autozone, O'reilly's). I'd only do this if you are replacing the hub, as it would not be good for it.

    Power windows stoped working.

It is also a very common problem to have broken wires in the driver's door jamb. All doors recieve their powere routed from the driver's switch. It is possible to re-wire each door so it functions on it's own switch, but you'd lose the capability to operate from the driver's door. My '98 had...

    parking brake ?

I have a set of new backing plates complete with brake hardware, shoes, and cables for an 8.25. They cam off a factory new axle from jeep. I upgraded to ZJ brakes. I also have new drums too, but they'd be too expensive to ship. $60 shipped for the loaded backing plates and cables, if...

Wrangler d30 w/cam adjuster bolts in a XJ?

I've got a front d30 with 4.10 gears l'd like to put in my XJ. I've just noticed it has cam adjuster bolts in the lower control arm bolt locations on the front axle. Do I have to use these? I assume I do, since the bolt hole opening is oblong. How do I align the Jeep with these? It is...

I think my power window lock button is broken.. amp related?

That write-up will fix the window lock problem, and it is also a know problem that the wires in the door jame become brittle and crack or break causing certain windows to not work. If the lock fix doesn't help, that is likely your next step. It is rarely bad switches (except the lock button).

yes I searched, Ride after 2 inch lift

I'm running an OME approx. 2" lift. Rides as good if not better than stock. Speedo is more accurate with 255/70/16 (30.5") tires than it was with stock size. Mpgs went down maybe 1 mpg. You can replace individual bushings, but it is cheaper to just buy a whole new control arm with...
