    Future XJ owner

I had a 99 that was company issued while I was living in Cleveland, Ohio years ago and we put a Meyers 2M plow on it after changing out the front springs to the heavy duty models. Meyers has a mount for the Cherokee and there are some places like Storks out of PA that have mounts for sale on...

    The Frog Blog

Bummer. There for a minute I thought you finally developed the true addiction for which there is not a 12 step process. You effectively backed out of drug deal. That must have been a let down. I was already to give you full and unbridled support to cut and burn as the black XJs are plentiful...

funny posting on CL good for a laugh-22 new shocks

The question remains... why? Perhaps there are shocks on the gas door. Now as Kelly can attest, I am not a devotee of lifts, but do have an appreciation for well composed lift package for trail use, however, I do not think the sky is the limit on this one. There is a reason that it was...

42K? That is what you call neglect and abandonment. Good Lord, the seals and gaskets must be on the verge of dry rot. I found the sweet spot between value and mileage to be between 120K and 160K. I can see and hear all of the problems and if it was driven to a meeting point, I don't really...

    99 XJ phantom locks

Had the same issue. Sourced to a connector behind the passenger kick panel. Couple of loose tangs inside. Replaced and resoldered a new terminal set. No issues since. Just moving the harness helped to pin point the issue quickly.

where to find '97 4X4 under engine splash shield

I have found a few Jeep dealerships that use the upgraded Trademotion system that show diagrams. If you need to have OEM parts, I would recommend investigating Airpark Chrysler Jeep Dodge. I have used them for years and Jim Leonard there has done research to see what may be out of production...

    Hardest Fix On Your XJ?

Tedious but the most rewarding repair was soldering in a new female pigtail for gauge cluster right hand terminal. Previously, I had cleaned the pins on the cluster first and plugged 'er back in, and within 20 minutes the Tach, air bag and speedo fell off and the 'no bus' made its cameo...

2001 xj limited slip diff clutch issue

Have the clutch packs replaced. They do break occasionally after a lot of miles and place the Mopar limited slip friction additive in back with the new gear oil. Dana Spicer Clutch Packs can be ordered from Just Differentials. Removing/Replacing the packs in and out of the case is much...

    The Frog Blog

Anytime someone in any of the threads would talk about pulling out the grinder or torch to cut off factory weldments, it would send shivers up my spine. Reinforcements I am good with. But one has to admit that the Frog is really one of the tightest rigs in terms of appearance and function...

Moving along distance? This is how it is done. Get somebody to do it! My version of a complete shop on wheels. Arrival 1790 miles away from the Golden State. The drivers at the Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS) thought their eyes needed to be checked as they were all former Cherokee...

    Turn signals and return?

The biggest deal is removing the steering wheel. A puller and an impact wrench makes short work of it. Two hours max if you have never done it before. 1 hour the second time if you figure out you need a new clockspring. Just remember to disconnect the battery and let it sit for say 10...
