Rig: 1992 xj base w/4.0 195000 miles
Went wheeling and all was good. Now it won't start and the nss has given me trouble for years. I started trying to take the nss off and it broke. The part that goes over the shaft stayed on and didnt budge. Now i can't get the rest off even soaking it...
The hatred towards the Dana 35 is clearly overwhelming. I still have the D35 on my '92 with 33's and freshly built motor and have been wheeling with no issues over rocks/trails/whatever. This has been my rig for the last 8 years but the 31's to 33's upgrade and new motor came 2 yrs ago. It...
Honestly, if you want cheap, go with zj springs (or spacer on your stock spring) and a shackle lift in the rear. Stock shocks will work, you DON'T need a SYE or any t-case drop. As for the 31's, not gonna happen with 2" if you plan on flexing at all. Could probably pull it off with proper...
Unless you are just dying to spend the money, keep your stock one. You don't need one at that height. I ran the Rusty's 3.5" for 4 years without issues.
So based on what I'm hearing, the big key is the new bracket. It also seems like the brace is a great addition. Any thoughts on using the pro-comp trac bar with the RE bracket and brace?
Yeah...stock bar was on it when I used it as a DD with 3". I put the 5.5" on it and never adjusted anything because the jeep went to strictly spare vehicle/offroad toy status.
Is the RE that much better based on experience or just personal opinion? I ordered the PC TB through 4 Wheel Parts...
Ok, I've looked everywhere without much luck. Does anyone have a Pro Comp adjustable trac bar on their XJ? I'm sitting at 5.5" and just took my jeep for an alignment. The factory TB is shot after 18 yrs...go figure.
Anyway, is the Pro Comp good/bad/adequate...any feedback would be...
I have Rusty's 3.5" spring lift plus 2" spacers front 2" shackles rear. I put on bushwacker flares which of course means I trimmed my fenders. I run a 33x12.50x15 tsl swamper and with the sway bar disconnected, I rub into the flares at full flex. This weekend I actually took the flares off...
Judging by the pictures, I don't think going any lower on psi would be ideal. It looks really good with the fender flares.
Do you have any issues with rubbing? Are those rims 5 on 4.5 or 5 on 5 with spacers?
Great time today at Haspin! It was super dry and we were able to hit a ton of trails without sliding around and dealin with the nonsense. I wish I could make it to the T4T at Badlands but I'll be serving this great country that weekend.
Wow, you guys are much too committed to not cutting your XJ up a bit. I did new shackles on mine and the drivers side snapped the nut free almost instantaneously. Bumper came off (already had custom rear bumper on so it came off easy). Next was a mans dream tool - the sawzall. Opened the holes...
