sent a PM, thanks for the advice!
I've read that using older exhaust manifolds (pre 2000, from 0630) work fine on 2000+ heads (0331), just not the other way around - which is what I'm looking for. I'd just like to have some way to connect 2000 downstream exhaust to pre-2000 exhaust manifold...
Yes that's the alternative. It basically just covers part of the exhaust port on the head to match the manifold. I was hoping to use a manifold that matches the larger exhaust ports somehow
The reply I got back from banks is
That is an option that I have read in a few places... I'm just trying to imagine how I can bring that all into a shop and have it done accurately when it's not on the vehicle
Hi Everybody,
Sorry to beat a dead horse here, but I need a little help with my engine swap.
I have a federal emissions 2000 XJ (NO pre cats) with a blown engine - 0331 head. I have a 97 4.0L ready to go with a 0630 head.
I would just like some advice with the exhaust setup... I know I can...
Hi,
I'm on a trip down to Colorado from Canada. I started this trip with low oil pressure from a recent dunking my jeep took. I've been planning on replacing my engine when I get home
On the drive down, I'm going through about 3L of oil every fill up, and have come to the conclusion that I...
Hi everyone,
I have a 2001 XJ with ~5" of lift or so. The wheel bearing are shot on the front D30, and I know some point in the future I'd like to do the Clayton High Steer kit (WJ brake upgrade). With this in mind, I (somewhat stupidly) bought TJ wheel bearings - ha597449, thinking that I...
I've been using 4.88's in my D30, with aussie locker for the last ~2 years with no problems yet. I've done a decent amount of trails as well, no problems yet
So it ends up, I believe my SYE is actually a PORC SYE. I pulled the seal tonight and the only numbers on it are TTO F494 1. After some googling, I came across this on the 4wd forums if anyone needs it for future PORC SYE reference:
The driveline shop here in town had a yoke for me for a reasonable price so I'm not too concerned about that anymore. I just need to get that seal out and replaced
Thanks for the input joe. It looks like I will have to pull the seal to know for sure what the correct one is... Can this be done from the outside of the tcase?
