Sorry for taking so long to reply...had internet issues this past week.
Anyway, yeah, the belt was cracking so I threw another one on it. I also changed the oil as I just bought it a few weeks ago. It turns out wally world did the last oil change on it and it seems it had about 9qts of oil in...
2000 sport, 4.0, 4wd auto, 150k miles.....at extended idle I've noticed the oil press dropping to zero, "check guages" light comes on and I notice my temp rising above 210. Then I hear a horriffic noise from under the hood that vibrates the whole truck....quite possibly the aux fan runnung...
Yeah, if you think about it. I aquired an oil cap, so all I need now is the lamp. It looks like someone stole this one...bracket, screws and all....the only thing left is a hole and a harness hanging down. LOL.
Anyway, yeah....I'd say 20$ or so...see what you can do. I am asking around for a...
Hey. Thanks for replying. I believe the 4.0 head was redesigned in 96 for better flow...not sure if it is a direct bolt on replacement. The isurance company settled on my old one so I don't have it to part out...sorry. I did however pick up a 2000 sport 4wd today near Conway, so I'm stoked...
Well, I sadly report that my jeep made the final sacrifice for me. I was rear-ended by a drunk driver on an exit ramp and I rolled her into the ditch. She took quite the hit, laying to rest on her side. I crawled out the the back with minor cuts/brusies. After walking away from this, I WILL...

I just didn't look hard enough. Oh well....for that price I'll go ahead with another order. Thanks for the help, guys.
Thanks. I am looking for #15 in those diagrams....not #14. Thanks, though. BTW I should have mentioned mine is a 93 with stock suspension. Those are for 97 up. Thanks.
Hi. My xj was recently rear ended and my left rear leaf spring was damaged. I purchased a pair of new leaf springs....they were sagging and needed new ones anyway.....but I am having trouble finding new bushings for the springs. I have a Rough Country 2" shackle on the rear with poly bushings...
It's not that bad usually. If getting the retainers off is giving you trouble....properly setting up the final drive is gonna really give you fits....if you're going that deep into it.
If you don't have a press and a bearing splitter handy, I'd use a cut-off wheel/die grinder, and yes, you will need to replace it....I've had a few that were a PITA....needed a torch and air hammer even after cutting them....sometimes they can really suck.
The RC kit I linked to above has an adjustable rear shackle....for 1 1/2" or 2" of lift....if your rear shocks raise it 1/2" this kit would be ideal as you could just use the 1 1/2" adjustment on the shackle...or go the full 2" if your shocks don't raise it much....just my .02
I just did a Rough Country 2" budget lift on my '93 this past week.....spacer in front and shackle in the rear. It looks great and was an easy install.
