    Odd gas pump video

It was caused by the static charge built up by her sitting back down in the driver's seat and then getting back up and going to the nozzle without grounding herself first. Supposedly it happens to women more than men because they are more likely to go back and sit in the driver's seat during...

    www.eMachineShop.com

Here is an interesting company: http://www.emachineshop.com/ Maybe not for those of you who have all this equipment/software at home already, but fun to play around with. Basically, you can design parts with their downloadable software and get price quotes, etc. Don't know what their...

    New car input

My wife and I have a Jetta TDI wagon. Great car -- 50 MPG on the highway -- the fuel in the tank will definitely outlast anyone's bladder! The car is very reliable except for a one thing that was fixed under warrenty. -SNB

    D44 w/ a stubborn carrier

Using a rag between the pinion and ring gears has worked for me several times. Much more controlled and reliable than other methods I've tried. You may have to run the rag through several times, each time pushing the carrier out ever so slightly. -SNB

    Snakes(ATTN Woody!)

Poison? As long as you don't mind smelling the rotting carcases in the wall where you can never get to them. An office I worked at did that and it stank for the entire summer. Good old snap traps are the way to go. Put them along the wall, between appliances, etc. and get ready to hear the...

    1999 XJ snorkel

An even better location (with a bit more work) is to use the original washer bottle and put it inside the passenger side fender. Basically a mirror of the driver side. Just need to seal up the original hole for the filler neck, drill a new hole for it, and use a heat gun a bit to reshape it so...

    Ox Locker durability

Yes, supposedly 4wheelparts is selling them: http://www.4wheelparts.com/product2.asp?imseqn=2175&occlass=OXL&cat=DRI And the design has been changed to better insure positive engagement. Basically, the old design had a set of flat teeth on engage the locker. The new design has beveled teeth...

    Bad "voltage regulator" or alternator?

Yeah, unfortunately, I don't think there would have been a good way to have spotted the problem in the ground cable before it broke. It broke about 3/8" up into the heat-shrink wrap -- so there were no outward signs of wear on it -- until I took it off and re-attached it. But you are right...

    Bad "voltage regulator" or alternator?

Cool, after cleaning up all of the cable connections (alternator, PDC, PCM, battery, and ground) everything seems to be running fine and normal again. The alternator connection was really corroded so my bets are on that. Also I replaced the ground cable going from the negative post on the...

    Bad "voltage regulator" or alternator?

Thanks for the replies so far. I definitely plan on cleaning up the battery terminals along with other electrical connections (alternatator, grounds, etc.). Luckily it started to flip out only a few minutes before I got home, so my hope is that no damage was done. Thanks for the reminder to...

    Bad "voltage regulator" or alternator?

So, just as I was driving home this morning, my radio started to cut in and out, voltage spiked to 19v on the panel, and my "Check Gauges" light came on. I assume that something went south or I have a loose connection somewhere. Since the "voltage regulator" is in the PCM, and not in the...

Somebody figure this puzzle out, it's driving me nuts!!

The guy on the end on the left side (as you look at the photo) looses his hair, but still remains.

Need some recon on RI ...

Check out hotwire.com and priceline.com. I stay at 4-star hotels in Houston for $50-$60/night that normally charge $269/night. I haven't found it to be as good in other locations, but always worth looking. Best rates are found a few days before the trip starts. Also, use hotwire to give...

    Central New York??

Well, I just moved to Ithaca, NY -- so I'm in Central NY, but haven't learned about or found any places to go wheeling yet. Been busy with non-Jeep related things (buying a house, job, etc.) but if you come across an oppurtunity or two, let me know. -SNB

Any folks live in the Finger Lakes region in NY?

Just moved from Madison, WI to Ithaca, NY and trying to find some Jeep folks who live around here. I have a '99 XJ, ~6" lift, 33s, etc. -SNB
