I put in shims and it still is growling. I got the jeep up to 45 and and it was a very high vibration that I could feel in my head. The angle of the pinion looks like it should he with an SYE. Would that help? This vibe wasn't there before and all that was swapped was the D35 for the 8.25 axle
It is a vibration, one that you can hear at low speeds and feel starting at 25mph. There is not play whatsoever in the pinion or driveshaft. On my last XJ the driveshaft had a little weight on it that was hitting the muffler. This sounds just like that...
Here is the story, my brother bought a 97 XJ for parts. It was a 4 cylinder 5 speed so it had an 8.25 rear with 4.10 gears. It came with no motor and the guy he bought it from bought it from someone else and he didnt know much about it. My brother then bought an 01 XJ that was already lifted...
I used a stiff broom on mine to get the foam and glue off then a hand brush for the detail part. I then sprayed rattle can primer grey on and it looks great. This is another option for a cheap fix.
Re: Re: Autopals, Hella 100/90 bulbs & a relay harness. Impressions so far.
I had the eautoworks harness with H4 bulbs and ipf housings. The lights performed great and it was a huge difference over stock. But this was only when they worked. I had problems from the start with the relays and...
I made my own for my bronco winch bumper by buying some steel stock and drilling three holes in them. The only issue I had was that the steel ate drill bits
This happened to my wife while she drove the jeep in a horrible storm except she lost wipers too! I checked fuses and connections when she got home and found nothing. The next day I went to try again and everything worked. I think water gets in somewhere and then dries out, who knows...
If you can reuse the factory backer all I did was take the whole thing out, scrape all three old glue off and then paint it with a dark primer in a rattle can. It looks like a real headliner until you touch it. Nice, easy, and cheap
Re: Re: Headlight harness kills hi-beams
That's the thing I did already. I ran each wire for the harness separate and then used wire loom to cover them. Each wire is one single piece with no cuts or breaks. I almost wonder if something happened to the stock wiring when I had the eautoworks...
I upgraded my entire harness according to the write up on gojeep. I used 10awg wires with 40amp relays and H4 plugs. Before I had the eautoworks harness and it kept killing relays and eventually the hi-beams stopped working. This is why I did my own harness. Now when I turn the hi-beams on the...
I was referring to the bundle of wires that are under the column and appear to run up to where the ignition switch is. Those are the ones you used, right?
Re: Re: PUSH BUTTON START ON 98
This may sound dumb, but when you wired the cut wires did you connect to the side going to the ignition or to the side going ton the rest of the wiring harness?
