It changes the shift points a bit. Later years without the switch are just always in "power" mode. I think comfort sucks so I never use it.
The change is entirely electronic. Mine works, but I am using the original TCU. From what I hear the TCU is the same but the wiring is different...
Sounds like you increased the diameter of the entire exhaust and changed cats. The added volume and the freer cat would decrease the velocity of the exhaust, moving the torque/efficiency peak up to higher rpms. Removing the dent would add additional volume. Depending on type of driving...
the regular ones seem very soft. I got them before they sold 2 different versions, but I'd assume they are the same as what is now the non-HD version. They have not sagged or deformed or anything, but were always too soft for my liking.
lol, I thought "Cornfield" would be a better way to describe the town than "Not Chicago"... but I've never tipped a cow :D
My switch goes from power to the amp's remote terminal, switching the main power lead does not seem practical as there is so much draw from an amp and we like to use huge...
Yea, remote wire or pwr antenna wire works so the amp's only on when the deck is on. If the amp is for subs, I use a switch instead so I can flip and avoid pissing people off without needing to go through the settings on the unit. With the low rate of actual crime we see around here, the cops...
My right side chewed up the bearings at ~190k miles. I got a Timken. Left side is still fine at 235k
This is an 87 and the hubs spent more time underwater than is probably recommended. :D
It's going to be loud enough either way, but it might sound better going the right way. I ran one for years, it don't do much actual muffling no matter how it's hooked up.
yes i fixed the pinion seal, and the jeep is now bailing-wire-free.
The ports should line up on headers for newer engines, I'm still using that same header on the HO engine.
But there's no reason not to get the Pacesetter, it's a good product. The paint will catch fire the first time you start the engine, but after that it's great :laugh3:
I have welded the...
I think there's another, but I don't remember what it is. Nonetheless, I was happy with the Pacesetter, and it was cheap. I had to bend the EGR tube to get it to fit but otherwise it fit fine(I got it maybe 6 years ago). It smoothed out the powerband quite a bit, gradually increasing power...
I used a 93 transmission, it works fine with the Renix system's TCU. I also used the newer TC so I didn't have any spline problems. Just remember to separate engine/trans and swap out that flexplate, the Renix CPS won't read the HO's flexplate properly, which I found out after I had put it all...
Yes this muffler is basically an expensive glasspack that looks like a real muffler. It's probably too loud for most people. I like it better than the cheap thrush turbo I used to have, but I liked the strait-up glasspack too.
