    winch line

I use a 3/8s amsteel 100' extension it has a loop on both ends, that way if your line gets cut you can just turn the line around and you're good to go.

    Gears

First, is that 70 mph on a corrected speedometer? If not you're doing close to 80 mph when the speedometer is reading 70. If you don't plan on anything taller than 32s the 3.55 ratio is borderline.

    Winch Line

Warn, and Master Pull are both good winch rope brands, but they are probably the most expensive. I personally use Amsteel Blue it is good, and less expensive, also I use 100' extensions, that way I have loops on both ends in case I have a problem with the end my safety thimble is on, I can just...

    Winch Line

Synthetic is fine as long as you run a winch cover and tape the part of the rope that is exposed. They both work, but I like the synthetic for ease of use and because I like to snow wheel and dragging 100' of steel cable in 2 - 4 foot of snow is a much harder than pulling synthetic rope.

poping noise when in 4hi & turning

It would be really hard for the suspension to work at all if the drive shaft didn't slide in and out, sort of need that movement in the drive shaft if the wheels move up and down.

poping noise when in 4hi & turning

First, since you aren't suppose to use 4wd on hard surfaces why are you? Second, it could be any number of things, axle u joints, drive shaft u joints, transfer case, ball joints, hubs, anything that has to do with the front axle, the 4wd system, or steering. Make a list from the easiest to the...

    Best year for Dana 60?

If you had read the post he has a 73 k20 which is a GM which has a passenger side drop. The ford will not work.

    Best year for Dana 60?

73-87 will work great, but 88-91 will work just as well just make sure it is a 1 ton and not a 3/4 ton. Some times it is cheaper to buy the whole truck than to look for axles. I paid 1200.00 for my running 88 crew cab 1 ton with lockers f&r and new brakes and wheel bearing seals.

    BEAD LOCK RIMS

I would guess they do what a beadlock is suppose to do, hold the bead on the rim. They work great for trails and rocks at super low pressures, and they lock both beads not just the front bead.

    What setup for ice?

I run all my 4x4s in two wheel drive on packed snow and ice. The best and least expensive thing to do to get great traction on ice is to go to a tire shop that does tire siping and have your tires siped!! I run Detroits front and rear on my Blazer and have never had a problem in snow and ice...

    Rock kraler almost killed me.........

Do not understand what the problem is here! Rock Krawler states that this part has an abuse proof lifetime warranty! To me that means unless they can prove! that the part was incorrectly installed they must honor their warranty. The OP may or may not have installed this part correctly, no one...

    Regearing with 32-33s

When looking at gearing think about the effective gear ratio. I'm running 35s with 4.88 gears, but the effective ratio is 3.97, which is good for a DD that has bumpers, winch, sliders and skid plates. The effective ratio, is the stock tire height divided by the new tire height, times the...

BFG Mud-terrain KM2 vs. Cooper Discoverer STT

Only issue I know of with the STTs are the 2 ply sidewalls are more prone to trail damage, unlike the KM2's three ply sidewalls that seem to be tougher.

question about the Chrysler 8.25 27 spline and lockers...

What kind of wheeling do you do with the Cherokee? Rocks and hard sh*t I would upgrade to 29 spline shafts. Easier stuff try the lunch box on 27 spline shafts if it breaks upgrade to 29 spline shafts. If you do easy stuff, and since it is your DD you only end up wheeling once or twice a month...

    Bigger tires or a locker?

Yes, I would run a 27 spline C/8.25 locked with 31s. The reason I decided to buy my Cherokee was wheeling Moab with a guy in a Cherokee on 32s running a 27 spline C/8.25 with a Detroit locker. He finally broke the driver side shaft but only after running Prichett Canyon, Moab Rim, and Poison...
