    NP231 converting to NP242

    I am about to swap my tranny in my 88, should I keep the 231 transfer thats in my rig or the 242 thats connected to the tranny already. If I do swap to the 231 will it bolt up to my aw4 without trouble. Really twisted

    I have noticed something

    I bought 3 of them. The last one the guy wanted 750. for it. The first cost me 125 the second and third was 325 a piece. No, I didn't buy them just for me. I was shopping for me and some buddies. I will be going again soon, just to see if it was luck.

    rear axles

    :repair: I bought another xj last night for the motor/tranny. Its the magical 87 liited. I have found that it appears to have a 44 in the rear. Here's the #'s off the id tag 8953005003 46-13 3.54. I have not been able to crawl under and check the tube #'s yet. :confused1

    Really lost on tranny

    I have a 88xj :viking: with a slipping trans. Thought it was an aw4, not sure. 1st and 2nd are in the same location, then 3rd,4th, drive and rev. The #.s on the tranny are 88fc 61853. Jeep says its not factory.:confused1 Any help with id would be great.
