Front Dana44 Wagoneer axle width doesn't add up

Ok I can bite off on that if the wide track is 65.5 and the narrow is really 61.5 that's 4 inches so pretty close to the 3.96 I came up with. Not going to quibble over 40 thousandths in this case. Thanks that clears it up. By the way lots of places list the narrow 44 as 59.5 that's why I brought...

Front Dana44 Wagoneer axle width doesn't add up

I am starting the research to build a front Dana 44. No problem with Dana 30 but it's an upgrade I want to do. I have a lot of info from Dana, but something doesn't add up. Best (not from Dana) info I can find on the wide track jeep axle ( BOM 610139) is that the WMS to WMS is aprox 65"-66". No...

    ARB RD06 Dana 44

That was my original problem. ARB no longer makes 728B041. That was according to ARBusa tech support. And they couldn't find any surplus. So anyone with one of these don't break the spiders or you are sol. I will try polyperformance though and see if they have a set.

    ARB RD06 Dana 44

Yeah, I even asked for the technical drawings of the gears. Some of the gears look really similar between models. The hardest gear to make ,the clutch gear, is still in ok shape, and I have access to a machine shop. Does anyone have one of the small spiders from a rd116 even broken that may give...

    ARB RD06 Dana 44

I have an ARB RD06 locker with some broken spider gears. ARB no longer supports this product as they have replaced it with the RD116. Any suggestions short of a boat anchor?

    Dana 44 Solidworks Files

Yeah, I went to Oklahoma State, graduated a while ago, so not sure if I could get access to their machines. As far as making it complicated...I am anal like that, just like a solid plan to be laid out. I will probably end up taking all the measurements and modeling it. Thanks for the...

    Dana 44 Solidworks Files

I am wanting to build a truss for a rear Dana 44, I would like to model it before hand in Solidworks. I don't, however want to model the Dana 44 if at all possible. I have been looking on the web and 3D contentcentral with no luck. Does anyone know where you can get a Solidworks file for the 44?

    2001 computer question

I am sorry if I mislead you guys, but I am not in California. The Jeep is just one that was speced out to be legal in California. I am in Oklahoma, we don't have any vehicle inspections at all. They got rid of them in 2001 saying that it was a waste of tax payer money. I have done all the...

    2001 computer question

I have a 2001 cherokee, I also have a 92 cherokee. I have been thinking about swaping the head from the 92 to the 2001. The 92 is dead. I am fairly confident with the swap except that the 2001 I have has the California manifold with the extra cats and o2 sensors. I was wondering if Chrysler was...

    rear driveshaft

The 2x4 was on the floor of my garage, i placed the drive shaft on top of the 2x4 to allow the u joint to come out of the socket. I placed the head of the bolt on the other side of the u-joint and struck it with the hammer untill it came out. It mushroomed the hell out of the bolt but the...

    rear driveshaft

when I did mine last I used a four pound sledge and part of a broken 5/8 in bolt. Put it between some scrap 2x4's and wailed on it. But if you want to reuse the ujoints I would find something else. A two jaw puller might work if you have one, I haven't tried it but just an Idea.

    rear driveshaft

The only problem would be at full deflection you don't want the spline to compress into the t-case generaly causes problems. But you are right that it would reduce the driveline angle, but very small amount. It would have to be significantly longer to reduce the angle much. Just cos sin stuff to...

    Clutch

Other than some break cleaner to make everything shiny, that sounds like about all you could do. Not sure if the tranny mount is nessisary, and its not too hard to replace by itself. Oh if you have not pulled an AX-15 before there are some Torx head bolts on the top of the bell housing, that...
