Crankshaft position sensor? Typical symptoms of a bad one are 1. stalling and 2. difficult starts. I'd check that first. Not difficult to replace, a PITA to get to. 18" of rachet extensions, an 11mm socket and a swivel should do it. Plenty of YouTube vids on how to replace it if you can't...
