JK tube doors on XJ with pics

No rattle with normal driving, but there can be a bit on potholes. The snubbers don’t make contact, but I could probably extend the mounts about 2 inches and the would contact the door sill and provide some compression to eliminate the rattle. I’ll drive it for a while before deciding if I...

JK tube doors on XJ with pics

Spent about 4 hours on it yesterday. Knocked the passenger door out in half the time. Figured it was a bit of a $300 gamble but one I was willing to take

JK tube doors on XJ with pics

So I’ve been wanting tube doors ever since I made the doors removable like 10 years ago. Didn’t really like any of the off the shelf options for cherokees. The warrior products doors were probably the best looking, but they were too expensive. After parking next to a JK one day, are started...

Window switches and wipers stopped at the same time

Thanks for the tips. I hadn't considered water in the fuse box being an issue - I have a leak on the passenger side I suspect is coming from the cabin air intake under the passenger cowl. Also will use my multi-meter to test those ign switch outputs.

Window switches and wipers stopped at the same time

Forgot to mention, 1999 Cherokee sport, no cruise. Don’t know if that matters or not being on the column Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Window switches and wipers stopped at the same time

Driving down the road, lost front wipers/sprayer, and window switches at the same time. Blinkers work, headlights and gauges work, gauge illumination works, radio/hvac works. From the reading and searching I’ve done, it doesn’t appear window switches are on the same circuit as wiper motor...

Team NAXJA/Petty Cash Racing stock class KOH XJ build

I figured that's what you would say, and I think for the extra work to fit the longer spring, for my style of wheeling likely wont pay dividends. Especially with all the options available now for slightly extending wheelbase with anti-wrap perches with some adjustment built in, the ironrock...

Team NAXJA/Petty Cash Racing stock class KOH XJ build

the bronco leaf springs were pretty interesting the a pretty elegant solution to avoid smacking the shackle on the crossmember/bumper/every rock ever. How's the ride/performance on the unicorn with the G9s compare to racecar with the G80s, (realizing they are built to do different things)? My...

    Bad rear end shake

Just realize I posted this in OEM, can a mod move this to mod tech? Probably more appropriate there I guess Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Bad rear end shake

1999 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L, aw4, np231, 8.25” rear with zj discs. RE 3.5” lift springs in the rear with 1” lift shackle and relocation brackets. Front end is RK 3 link, 3.5” lift springs and 1” coil isolators. WJ knuckles with one ton otk steering. DL and TB are pretty flat and pretty close to...

    Diagnosis? Front Driveline Clunking

I’ve had a few front end clunks in my Jeep over the years. One was the frameside trackbar bracket flexing, or more appropriately the frame flexing. First iteration fixing that was RE trackbar and brace. When I did the WJ swap, had a new TB and bracket, clunk (and DW) came back. Frame...

    tying stiffeners together

I basically did this. filled in the slots with some 3/16" scrap I had lying around, ground the welds flat. I had some 1/4" scrap that was the perfect width I cut to length, had some holes cut in it already, and used that as a fishplate. Did not make it all pretty like the picture above, but I...

    tying stiffeners together

I've got TNT center stiffeners that I installed about 10 years ago when they were the only thing on the market. I am welding in Ares Fab front frame stiffeners this week, and starting to think about wrapping this job up, and how to tie the front stiffeners into the middle stiffeners. Both...

    Steering suggestions for 5.5-6" lift

I am at about 5" lift, I did WJ swap last year, its pretty straight forward. Besides the brakes, it gives you two arms on the pass knuckle, so you can get rid of the inverted Y. I went with 1 ton ends, but some guys keep the WJ TREs which are still larger than the XJ stuff to save money. I...

HELP ! Death Wobble. Caster angle ?

I have a 1999 with about 4.5" lift with RE springs, RK long arms, WJ knuckles and one-ton steering. I only recently developed severe DW last week. Just like you, everything is "tight" and all parts are new given the wj swap was last year. However, my TB bracket on the frame side wallowed out...
