Well, as much as I loved the stock look. It was form vs function. I wheeled a little last week on some dirt hills here in Indy at a buddies place. The first good flex exploded the stock flares off. So had to cut the fenders. Hated to do it on such a good looking body, but it had to be done...

Did some paint work. Went ahead and bed linered the front and rear bumpers, rockers, and stock fender flares. Eventually want to do TJ style flares and aftermarket front and rear bumpers. I like it for now.

Best part about it, never been wheeled!

I got lucky. She's got her quirks, and at 191k miles of course she would. However, it's all very fixable little odds and ends.

Welp. Thought I would update this. Sold the first XJ and doubled my money. Bought this 2000 for $2000 last week- very little minor rust, clean on inside and out. Owned by an older woman all it's life! Over the past week I have transformed her.

May be a long shot, but hey.. Gotta try after scaling craigslist. Looking for a 3 inch lift that will work with my already 2 inch spacer lift for my 88 XJ 4 door. Doesn't need to be a full long arm kit or anything extravagant. The rig is mainly a wheeler, but will also drive on a regular basis...

If you want to spectate the race you do not. Just have to pay to park. The race isn't in the park, it's down the street.
