I love my KM2's. Great in the rocks, on the trail, and quiet on the road. They DO suck in the snow though. They are great in deep snow, but ice and slush are their worst enemy. If I had to drive my Jeep all year as a daily I would have gone with an AT tire, but because my XJ is a weekend...
I installed my Iron Rock double shear bar today. Install was simple and the bar and bracket are both pure beef. I had to find a longer bolt for the axle side, but once I got that I lock tited everything and install was easy.
I may be partial because they are a Minnesota company and I live in Minnesota, but I have had nothing but good luck with IRO. I bought a Hack N Tap kit from them, some lift parts, and a few other things here and there. There customer service is excellent. I will be purchasing their trackbar...
Nice look. What are the specs on your lift? Size, etc...
I just did 4.5 on my '98 and I'd like to run 33x10.5's with out a TON of trimming. I don't mind trimming up front but I don't want to get carried away in the rear.
The stock 5 spoke wheels look good.
I just did an Iron Rock Offroad Hack N' Tap SYE on my '98 with an AX-15. I used a front driveshaft from an automatic XJ. I've got about 1.5" of slip showing in the rear.
I talked to Iron Rock numerous times throughout the process and they mentioned no differences between AX and AW...
The comments above are somewhat conflicting with the information that I got from Iron Rock themselves. I ordered the yoke and driveshaft on Friday to install in my recently lifted '98 w/ AX-15, 231, and Dana 35. They didn't offer any driveshaft options, told me that the driveshaft that came...
I just got my 4.5in kit with rear leaf packs dropped off today. I'll probably start the install tomorrow.
I'll let everyone know what my thoughts are in a couple of days.
My '99 has been doing the same thing... I pulled the radio and realized that the piece of foam that surrounds the defroster box thingy had a whole in it. I duct taped the hole and I haven't had a problem since.... it's only been a day, but it blows on 4 no problem. One thing though, I cannot...
Sorry so long to respond. It's a '99 with the 231 T-case. I should be able to look at it tomorrow to see what the deal really is.
Also having some problems with the blower... in defrost mode at anything over setting #2 on the fan control the system goes haywire and doesn't blow out the dash at...
All the lights on the dash that let me know the vehicle is in four-wheel only work some of the time... the four-wheel drive works fine, but the lights only come on every once and awhile. Any ideas what makes these lights work? I know it's not a bulb issue, any other ideas?
Have a good...
