Hi everyone, can anybody tell me what the tcu resistor pack does? I've got an '89 Comanche that won't shift, and I discovered that it's broken and missing. Can this be the problem?
I need to know If I can Interchange three groove valves with single groove ones and can you mix them on the same head as long as I use the appropriate retainer and keepers and spring with the valve it goes with? I could't find any posts that cover this. Any help on this would be appreciated.
All the XKE Jags are done like that and It sounds pretty good on them, but somehow I don't think I will ever quite get that sound. Anyone got any ideas about how to mate the AW4 to an XK 4.2? It would certainly look impressive when you open the hood to see those polished aluminum valvecovers.
If the proper size tubing, say 2.0 inch O.D. were run all the way side by side into two identical cats about like the size of one on a VW Golf, to stay legal, and then two mufflers, and exit in the usual location, I don't think low end torque would be lost. I think improved gas mileage and...

It will be a PITA no doubt, especially if you have broken bolts and you probably do. You should plan to fix everything the way you want it, on that side of the engine, so you don't have to do it again later
Just another thought, you could have bad connections at the those clunky connectors near the throttle body or the one on the firewall if it has that one.
As for the IAC, I take mine out every once in a while and clean it w/ carb cleaner spray. Check out this link it might be helpful...
If the tps isn't adjusted properly it might do that, also the idle air control valve can be sticking or have a bad connection. When you shut the engine off it adjusts itself for the next start up. Another thing you might want to check is the egr valve which could be partially clogged or stuck...
There is a new version of the Jeep dealer's tool that will work. It's called DRB III. It is also available to the public from Miller SPX. I have done a lot of research on this before I found this forum. The problem is that it costs over $6000 and you probably need the super card for another...
