my 89' had the vinyl floor, it still has all of the padding and what not that the carpet has, so it will hold water. I ripped mine out and did a generic spray coating.. I need to do something else, but have not figured out what. The heat is rediculous. I made heat shields out of backing...

if you find a cheaper one.. let me know.. I cant stomach a $300 locker on a $60 axle... I might go with the ole Lincoln Locker.....

all of the parts catalogs list the 3.0L as a 2007 model...may still show up late. The Compass/Patriot are supposed to get VW diesels... they are also listed in the 2007 parts info, but I hear VW wont have a diesel till 2008. With the new ownership of Chrysler, who knows what will be coming up.

All that and you still put the pumpkin on the wrong side! :laugh:

i think i would add some more to that front mount... my guess would be the "frame" horns will eventually warp.. some side plates bolted on and welded to the angle would probably do wonders... $.02

I did the cookie sheet fix. The one on the cat can be bolted with U-bolts or muffler clamps to the pipe, but for the muffler I had to bolt it to the floor. I dont have carpet, so I will also be wrapping the pipe when I get around to it.

my $9 grinder barely made it through the front fenders.. It got to the point that it would spool up, then disengage once the disc hit the metal... But this was after I used it to cut the eyes off some leafs......

Any one read "Automotive News" ? its a weekly publication for the automotive industry, mostly dealers and such. Anyway, they just did an article on the Best and Worst technology and improvements to cars. HID's made the "Worst" list. I dont recall all of the details, but they said the jury...

the pinion is about an 1" longer. but with 5" of lift the driveshaft probably came out of the TC about 1"... so with the 8.25, then you should be perfect..

4.3L and some decent gears would be plenty..

I agree. It would be much easier to swap a Jeep emblem to a blazer then an XJ body.
