Quick AC Problem, Clutch I think?!?!?!?

So remove fan shroud, remove belt. Then undo clutch bolt?

Quick AC Problem, Clutch I think?!?!?!?

Lets bump this, as I am about to attempt this on my 2000. So my jeeps AC is cold, then dies 15 minutes later. Shim is coming out. So I take the serpentine belt off, then I use a strap wrench to hold it so the compressor doesn't slip, removing the center nut. Now the mounting bolts are...

Steering column - black plastic ring ?

My mistake. Its a 2000 jeep cherokee sport. Its just a plastic black washer around the column.

Steering column - black plastic ring ?

So I replaced my steering column with another one. Put it in, works as it should for the most part. However above the boot in the firewall on the interior side is a plastic, black metal washer around the column. Should this be inside the boot right near the firewall or outside the boot? My...

    97-01 XJ steering column setup

There are four, two per side, if I recall correctly. Two that are against the back (like the firewall) and then two that are going up, as if into the instrument cluster. Maybe its the tilt feature?

    stripped steering wheel bolt

Thanks, just bought a new column. Local yard had a full column, with airbag, CC and steering wheel for cheap.

Write-up -- Installing Cruise Control in your 97+ XJ

Anyone figure out if all Jeeps have the electric connection under the hood. It seems I have one, I think, with 3 wires, but it is way too short. It is short so it will not go to the front of by the battery. Anyone have a pic of the connector?

    stripped steering wheel bolt

So stripped steering wheel bolt in my 2000. Trying to use a die, but it isn't working. Now its a rounded end and some threads. Any other options besides new column? Two things that came to my mind: 1. Use a c clip next to the steering wheel. 2. Cut the bolt down by 1/3rd and then use...

Stuck caliper 2000 cherokee non ABS ?

Just forgot what the guy said. I had to use the bathroom so bad that I was in and out in a jiffy. Something about a clip on the front and doing something to it, as well as something else. Figured if they wanted to screw me they would have charged me for a new caliper and brake line. Between...

Stuck caliper 2000 cherokee non ABS ?

Problem is the condo association. No working on vehicles. I didn't know that and nearly got fined for changing out my CPS. I just remembered I have AAA, so I will either drive it the mile to the mechanic or just have it towed.

Stuck caliper 2000 cherokee non ABS ?

Pads and rotors up front. Not sure about the calipers. Now how do I get it there? Tow it, drive it or take off the caliper and hang it and drive? Its only 1 mile.

Stuck caliper 2000 cherokee non ABS ?

Hello, My 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 with non-ABS seems to have a stuck front passenger caliper. Driving it was pulling to the right and then some smoke was coming up under the vehicle. Pulled over, thought it was oil. Let it sit, dove the 1/2 mile home and noticed it was the front passenger wheel...

Easier method for replacing the CPS...

I just had to do this. Bought 2 feet of extension and it wasn't hard. Having a second set of hands up top makes it easier, but isn't necessary.

NSS will not come out! Now stiff shifter

You took off the 12mm bolt on top right? Just checking. I pull them at junkyards and they can be a pain, but it just seems you have to get the magic angle then they slide right off. I first take the top bolt off, then use a flathead screwdriver to pry using the lower nut, against the pan...
