I saw in a previous thread that you can use a Grand Cherokee Power Steering pump on a Cherokee. Is there a special year that would be used for a '90 XJ?
I bought my '90 with the same issue. I was told by the "D-BAG" that is was the coolant temp sensor, I switched everything out, MAP, TPS, AIC valve or IAC Valve, here the problem was the last intake bolt was loose and almost falling off. Tightened it and problem solved...
I had a problem like this with my Chey Caprice Classic ( I know its not a JEEP) but it was a vaccuum issue. There was a huge hole in one of the vaccuum lines. By the way I now own a '90xj.
I have a '90 Basic Cherokee with all these options plus leather seats all around. It confused me that a "Basic" model would have all this high end equipment.
